OUR Problem is;; Either we are a Nation of Laws or a Corporate Entity of policy/rules...... you can not do both! During CV-19 we got the greatest view of this problem when policy/rules mandated "Masks & a 6' Rule" ! Police started following these "rules" & they were not the law. What happens when a Municipality creates policy/rules that police arrest you for? Other Corporate folks ask Police to honor their policy/rules as LAWS ! Police started doing this & the inherent danger of this is in how fast ANY type of Corporate Entity or Business can simple make a rule, print it out, and post it all in an hour or two. This is not legal under the Republic for which we stand, we are not a Democracy ! We do democratic things like voting but we are a Republic & it requires the Legislature @ Federal or State levels to create new Laws ~ Policy -n- Rules were Never the Law ; don't accept tyranny !

@@jeremiahsouthworth5112 but that is the thing, the LEO really doesn't get it! At one point he said "I told him I am not kicking her out, that he could kick her out". Mind you, this is a video about "Good cop". Maybe I ask for too much, but for me a cop good would have told the security to back off or he would be arrested for bothering/harassing the lady. I am just over the 10 minute mark of the video where the lady is asking for an escort to be able to go inside a public building and conduct her business. Something tells me she won't get either of the two LEOs at the scene to actually do as she ask's and escort her in to do her business. Compared to most other LEO interaction videos that I see, yes these LEOs seem to be better than the norm, but are they really "good" officers? At the end of the day it is this straight forward: If what ever I am doing in public is 100% legal, then almost by definition it is illegal for anyone to use force to try and prevent me to continue to do what I am legally doing. Is that really a hard concept for an LEO to grasp? what about for a "good" officer? Why does the lady have to wait for this "good leo" to convince the security guard before the lady can continue on with her day/business? Has anyone noticed how on these type of youtube videos, we always see LEOs acting TOTALLY different when they are dealing with other gov officials or with other large private company employees? The know the average "joe" doesn't have the money nor the connections to make a big fuzz, but with gov officials and large corporation employees they take a MUCH higher risk if they don't act "professional".

Like I had assumed, NO ONE escorted the lady in, she had to wait around for the supervisor to show up and "confirm" her rights. Also like I had assumed, the security guard did verbally threaten the lady in front of the LEO stating he would physically prevent her from going into the building. The lady was crystal clear, "I want an escort because I am afraid he will go hands on if I try to go in", then the security guard confirms he would go hands on if she tries to go in. Why didn't the LEO tell security guard that a an LEO he would have to arrest HIM if he physically tries to prevent the lady from going in? Again is that too much to ask from an LEO? How about from a GOOD LEO? Supervisor did arrive. In front of the supervisor twice the LEO said "if they city clerk asks her to leave, then she does have to leave". Would you say that is a correct statement? Can the city clerk really trespass whoever they want for no legal reason?

The constitution DOES ALLOW her to film in a public library, as long as SHE IS NOT disturbing others. OTHER PEOPLE DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT to ask that they not be filmed in public! Sorry. You are demonstrably wrong. Watch the end. I do concede your point that she can sue, and if I were her, I would sue the ever living shit out of that county, and likely win, easily. Prolly get a settlement right quick, just for the effort. Still, the police were spot on. And when the security guard phone-called for clarification, which he should have done earlier IMO, he would have been told the proper course of action. This security guard is a poor example of what type of a tyrant of the thug that he's poorly educated or just plain ignorant. FULLY ignorant of the law. Our Constitution is the law of the land. Not that idiot of that security guard. Policies are NOT laws. Rules inside and/or outside of any public library are not laws, either. Unless anyone who's an auditor,which I seriously doubt that very much; happens to be loud in any public library, disrupting any of the public library staff,and/or the patrons,then that particular auditor,or by anyone....can be asked to leave. You can still film and record,but to be civil,any auditor,in example,can be civil and perform his/her/their legally constitutionally protected activity/activities by following protocol. By having an opportunity to speak to law enforcement. If law enforcement isn't quite clear on what is a legally constitutionally protected activity,then they should realize that they had sworn by an oath,to protect our Constitution. FOIA request form or forms available in public city halls. By any law enforcement agencies. And/or by a P.I.O. which means public information officers.

The case a day security guard has a way to fragile of an ego to possess a firearm. Definitely should not be part of his toolbox. He should do the community a service and find some other source of income. It is scary to know that people like him are hired as security.😬

That was even more the fault of the officer. We have seen them countless times bullying people, yet this officer was far beyond too polite. He didn't once try to assert himself in any meaningful way. Then when his (very deservedly appointed) sergeant begun to speak to the security guard, all of a sudden Officer Evans decided he actually does have something to say, and starts to interrupt his sergeant who had everything important to say.
@Sionnach16013 ай бұрын
@@SurferchicusaTo be fair, after watching it all, I believe that he actually fervently believed that what he was saying was right and that it was necessary for the overall good. I'd like a man like him, who has been completely inundated on the LAW and what really is right and wrong, rather than someone who is there just for a pay cheque.
@kimtonearts3 ай бұрын
@@Sionnach1601 fervently believed what he was saying, sure, but he's wrong. That doesn't give him the right to talk louder than everybody and be a bully. I'd rather have somebody who does their job politely, and isn't so full of ego that they go looking for arguments where they're not necessary. Security guards typically deter people from making poor choices simply because they know that there's more than just a camera on them there's somebody who's going to get Johnny Law down there PDQ.

The woman filming did tell the cops she feared for her safety. It quickly became clear why she did so.
@dougaltolan30174 ай бұрын
That is a constitutional right. Do you have a problem with that?
@mariegarside88304 ай бұрын
@dougaltolan3017 States regulate security guards. In my state, he would need to take extra training and pass further tests in order to carry a gun while working. While he does have the constitutional right to own a gun, in many states there are restrictions regarding guns in the workplace.
@jerseyshoredroneservices2254 ай бұрын
@@dougaltolan3017 The problem is that when cops interact with armed people they almost always "fear for their safety" and use that as a reason to disarm. The security guard was acting nuts but for some reason these cops didn't disarm him imagine If the situation were reversed and the lady was acting nuts and had a gun the cops likely would have acted very differently. The problem is the double standard.
