This is always something that impresses me every time I go to the Netherlands - the cycling infra is seamlessly connected for the most part. No silly sharp turns, and no bumping up and down dropped kerbs!

I discovered that cycle track on a random trip to Ikea and followed it to see where it went, assuming a town centre or train station or something. Nope, just straight into the path of an oncoming lorry.

With ped walking in it and shopping trolleys dumped in it .

That's just the beginning. On second look, pedestrian infrastructure seems missing.

Very nice. The high containment kerb on the right is excessive, but 9/10. Also, love the trolleys, looks fun. Many thanks, and much love

there is always some lazy buggers or kids leaving trolleys in places

Sometimes infrastructure ends politely; in this case, it vomits you out into oncoming traffic.

I must be the first viewer of this upload. Yay!! At the start I thought it looked too good to be true, and yes it was too good to be true😃😃😃. It was a good run at the start though🙂

This is how it should be, no confusion for all parties.

You’re lucky to have at least some proper protected cycling infrastructure. Most of the ones around me in Herts are basically shared pavements, the odd path and the rest through parks . But yes, there is no thought by local councils when it comes to joined up protected cycling infrastructure because most councils just don’t want the objections and the least amount of hassle from residents. Apparently according to Andrew Gilligan - often councils will say they will build cycling infrastructure and accept the funds and then just use it for other services. Cyclists really are second class citizens and have to make do with what is out there including sharing road and pavement space.

Well at least it seemed smooth. Unlike the abysmal farm track like surfaces provided by North Somerset council.

Shopping trolley. Go around. Pedestrians. Go around. Having to join a road. Stop the world and let me off. Right now.

Looked nice in the beginning, but.. yeah. just leads to nothing. That's ok, it should end somewhere, but who's planning this shit? david benioff and d.b. weiss? is it so hard to make some logical transition back to road?
