I’m all for always observing for cyclists and motorcyclists but I don’t get the logic of stopping in front if you think they’re going to hit you? Surely that’s more dangerous than continuing or stopping much earlier

Really funny that if I overtake a pushbike I have to give 1.5m yet a pushbike rider can overtake with minimal space between it and the motorised vehicle, sorry but that is surely wrong! There needs to be more rules for cyclists, and a registration for them to be held accountable!

had the pleasure of meeting Bill Nighy on oxford street around christmas time a few years. walking towards me suited and booted with a briefcase in hand. simply said “afternoon bill, big fan of your work.” he stopped, turned to face me and thanked me. bit of small talk about the freezing weather and then wished me a good day before smiling and continuing. very warm and genuine guy

Always causes problems. Follow the rules instead of being "polite". Of course no one is being polite to the people behind who are being held up when they have priority but more important, as shown here, it causes confusion and danger, especially for the more vulnerable.

Never fails to baffle me how one driver thinks it's 'worth the risk' and acceptable - the rest behind all follow suit like sheep. That's not just in close passing, it's in any manoeuvre which requires careful decision making.

All cyclists seem to think that the rules of the road don't apply to them. They ALL go through red lights and have no regard for anything. No lights when it's dark they should be made to take out insurance just like car drivers

The thing is, how much wasted time has there been to pull the wrong guy over!!!?? Seriously rather than enforcing more ways for cyclists to break the law, they need to enforce something that shows if a cyclist goes through a red light to identify it. If they want more cyclists, there needs to be more rules in place as I personally hate cyclists as they abuse both the road and pavement.

Where I live every single section of cycle lanes are unusable, something I've complained about to my Council..But nothing absolutely NOTHING is done for cyclists to use the provided lanes, these lanes are full of parked cars or unused sections full of debris from gravel/glass/rubbish lobbed out by passing vehicles and going green, I have to use the roads, then I've had motorists shout out at me...''use the fucking cycle lane cunt it cost the tax payers millions''
