Honestly, it's one of the ones you skipped. DBZ: Legend of the Super Saiyan for the Super Famicom is pretty fun once you learn the mechanics. The game having the zenkai boost just built in for the Saiyan characters and being able to break the story by having characters survive to make a what-if continuation of the story was really cool. Only real problem I remember is the encounter rate and the potential to get lost in areas.

I just gotta say, Budokai 3's combo system is actually really deep! You can cancel every charged move in the game, and every character has a fascinating moveset so you can actually keep hitting those combos when cancelling. It really does become a whole different game once you adapt to this playstyle, one of the best DBZ fighting games for sure
@SSJSonikku9 ай бұрын
Understandably most people that aren't serious into the games would not know the deeper aspects of the Budokai series. When people talk about the Budokai series and are not well versed in the system, it disappoints me. The Combo system is one of them. The system had been in place from the very beginning. It only got better with each installment. Just an example, but you could do something like this with Goku in Budokai 3: - = cancel * = stun ~ = cancel and side step ^ = Juggle p k e = non charge P K E = charge >pkK~ >k* kkkK-

Huh... No mention of Supersonic Warriors? One was on the GBA and its sequel was on the DS... Basically a 2D version of the Budokai Tenkaichi games which were really fun (though I liked how long the matches lasted in the first game, the second had the life bars go down way too quickly to savor the matches). What's more, Arc System Works made them, so they didn't just come out of nowhere for Extreme Butoden on the 3DS. This is kinda made apparent since Supersonic Warriors 2 started the whole switching characters/assists on the touch screen and one or two songs introduced in SSW2 being brought back in Extreme Butoden.

I'm pretty sure in Japan there was functionality to combine Extreme Butoden with the One Piece 3DS game and have people play multiplayer against one another using both versions of the game. Someone else on KZbin had a whole video about it. Also Dragon Ball FighterZ was probably the most successful main stream Anime Fighter that was FGC embraced until the lack of rollback led to issues and when Rollback was finally officially added this past month, it still had bugs and issues that pissed people off and essentially left the game dead. The devs said they'll have an update on a fix later in April but they also sai Also also I think Broly is a secret boss in Attack of the Saiyans. I'm 70% sure so there is a Super Saiyan in there.

@amirgarcia5479 ай бұрын
Budokai Tenkaichi 3 was a ton of fun due to basically being a greatest hits of every character across the franchise and duking them out against eachother, no matter how irrelevant or small. And I can’t wait to see that continued with Sparking Zero, and this time with Super characters to boot! Of course, DB FighterZ is what I consider to be flat-out the best DBZ game to how fun and epic it is, along with having tons of crazy tech but being simple enough for anyone to pick up. And I do have plenty of fond memories with the Legacy of Goku and Dragon Ball Origins games due to being the closest to Dragon Ball RPGs. While DBZ Kakarot tried to do something similar, it kinda just felt like a free-roaming version of Xenoverse, and so it sädly didn’t really scratch that same itch for me. It’s at least leagues better than DBZ Sagas though, which tried that same formula much earlier but nowhere near as good, and was the first console DBZ game I played on my OG Xbox due to being the first DBZ game released for it. Talk about a bad first impression… Also RIP Toriyama-sensei, you will be sorely missed.🙏🏽

Burst Limit is amazing. Most people don't talk about it because DBZ Games without the Buu Saga is criminal, especially after Tenkaichi 3 did regular Dragon Ball and GT, but Burst Limit's style is the best in the series. Probably even better than FighterZ since it actually tries to be unique and more flavorful rather than trying to just being a cutout of the Manga art, which, while impressive, isn't visually striking or unique.

talking about Fighting Games and then saying Budokai 3s combo system is lacking because all he was able to use is an easily punishable combo is hilarious. Combo cancels aside, you don't even need those to see the complexity of Budokai 3s system, wakeup options, chargeable attacks that grant superarmor and break guard, countless char specific strings to use, i-frames of transformations, just because you used PPPPE the whole game doesn't mean that's all there is to it. Then going to Tenkaichi and mentioning not a single gameplay mechanic that actually makes it such a good game, or mention its depth relative to other games, or mention anything besides the camera is also hilarious. It's not the camera that makes Tenkaichi an arena fighter, it's the free movement and gameplay focus on positioning that achieves that. Shin Budokai for the PSP also had an option to put the camera behind the character yet the gameplay was still like Budokai. Saying "BT3 is fun because big roster" is completely disregarding its gameplay qualities that make those chars fun to play. After all, when you ask people what the best racing game is, they don't say "obviously Gran Turismo 6 because it has the most cars", there's a bit more to it than that.

And if we're being honest Bruce Faulconers score of DBZ is the only reason that show became legendary. Go ahead watch the scenes with the song Destruction has way more weight to it, Pikkons theme, Perfect Cell theme, Gohan Angers 1 and 2 theme, watching Vegeta go Super Saiyan for the first time with that piano beat way better than the original music, and Super Saiyan 3 Power Up say no more. You felt the emotion the energy that music brought to the show, the original music had no real feel just was kind of there. Faulconers score made me feel like I could train and save the world, like I was part of something greater than myself. And even the songs not by Faulconer but on the soundtrack were better than the original, and here's the proof most shows hit the credits and you usually change the channel switch to something else but not when Rock the Dragon came on, yeah hits differently didn't it, made you happy, and you sat there until the whole song was over, never underestimate the power of music it unlocks a whole new level of emotions.

Okay, this story is kinda wild. I first learned about emulation at around 12-13 years old... at a tennis camp... in Baltimore, MD. There was a kid there who... let's say... was free-spirited. We got on the conversation of DBZ, and he told me about a game he played that was amazing. It ended up being one of the Super Butodens. I had only played GT Final Bout up til then, but I was able to hang out with him after camp one day and play some Sup But. I was sold on it. Then, and AGAIN at 12-13 years old... I learned how to find, download, and use a SNES emulator so that I could play the game at home, since I had recently gotten my own PC. Oh, the viruses. Thank God for McAfee. Anyway, in hindsight that game wasn't one of the best DB games available, but it was integral to my early life and love for anime and console fighters.

I really enjoyed DBZ Supersonic on GBA growing up. Had some really cool what if stories like Piccolo and Demon King Piccolo fusing

The West City theme from the GBA game Legacy of Goku 2 is so beautiful - part of my childhood.

You really do need to play Raging Blast 2 tbh man. It's better than you're joking it to not be

Solid list! I'd add Shin Budokai 2, Infinite World and Super Sonic Warriors 2. DB Legends, Dokkan Battle are decent mobile games and Evolution for the PSP is surprisingly not complete garbage lmao. Tenkaichi Tag Team is fun too

@@diamonshade7484 That is true, this is part of the Budokai series (developed bu Dimps still). Dragon Ball Evolution for PSP is probably the best thing to come out of that awful movie. Gameplay wise it's a modded Shin Budokai 2. Maybe not the best especially when compared to Shin Budokai 2, but I'd still play it for sure.
