It is finished. All my sins are forgiven, past present, and future. Jesus paid the penalty for my sins in full on the cross. I can go to heaven when I die, even though I have done terrible things. I want to live for Jesus with the years I have left. What a sense of peace, I do not need to worry about going to hell when I die.

ALL HAIL KING JESUS 🙏🏼🌿 “When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly. “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.” - 1 Peter 2:23-24 ❤

Never trust a fat preacher. They are not keeping the commandment that Jesus gave: Luke 9:23 Then Jesus said to all of them, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow Me. 2 This man is a glutton, he is not denying himself in terms of food, and should not be trusted.

There are many comments in the media regarding Saddleback's teaching and the lack of focus on repentance when sharing the Gospel. There is teaching on how we all sin, how we are all in need of a savior, that Jesus Christ is that Savior, that He was born, lived , died for our sins, paid the penalty on the cross and rose again to conquer death so as to take that penalty on himself for us. Pastor Rick tells us that we must ask forgiveness and for God to help change our hearts, to become that new creation in Him. If it is worded in love and not hell, fire and brimstone, but says the same thing, its not wrong, just differs in teaching style. The ministry is continually blessed, bears fruit, and is growing in numbers globally. there will be people who will agree and people who will not. everyone is free to express an opinion, as am I. But rather than tear down, insult, slander, in some cases curse the name of another Pastor, wouldn't it be better to pray for him and ask for prayer if you were that concerned about his welfare and his teaching privately? How about the people he teaches? If so concerned, praying for those people privately would have a greater impact than making negative comments and anti Saddleback sentiments publicly. Just speaking out like this on behalf of my church gives me pause....really what I would like to see brothers and sisters in Christ, is for us all to pray for each other. to seek the Lord in prayer and see what our Papa in Heaven has to say about this issue, so that we may be unified in spirit and in truth. And so I plead with you dear brothers and sisters in Christ, join with me in this endeavor to end this controversy and pursue peace. In His Love, Connie Carter

The work that Jesus incarnated on earth to finish is outlined by the Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 3: "We proclaim the mysterious plan conceived by God in His wisdom, a plan which has hitherto been concealed, but which God established before time began in order to lead us back to glory. The Plan was known to none of the rulers of this world, for otherwise they would not have crucified the Lord of Glory."

Saddleback Church. The Bible tells us that Jesus didn't finish salvation on the cross. In relation to the coming sufferings of Jesus, He said "I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how distressed I am until it's finished". When Jesus was on the cross and said it is finished, He had just died Spiritualy and was about to go to Hell, so His distress wasn't finished when His body died.

Saddleback Church. Pastor Rick Warren. Anyone who knows the Bible, Will know that Salvation wasn't completed by Jesus on the cross. [1]When Jesus said, "It is finished", He didn't mean salvation, because Jesus had to first die, And Jesus was alive when He said it is finished. Dead men don't speak. [2]The Greek tense for "It is finished" is Past tense, Whereas at that time the death of Jesus was future tense, [Dead men don't speak]. Or at least present tense, But His death certainly was not past tense. [3]What was finished was all the prophecies about Jesus on the cross. [4]Jesus had to go to Hell, [Hades], see Acts 2: 27--31, With Lk 16: 23--25, They are the same place, Jesus went there so we don't have to go there. [5] Jesus had to be raised up from the dead so we could be justified. Rom 4: 25, and for our sins to be forgiven. 1 Cor 15: 14--18, [V17]

This week, called "Holy Week" by many Christians, we'll be hearing a lot about Jesus' death on the cross. Many Christians will be repeating the refrain, "Jesus died for our sins." But how many of these church members actually have any idea what they're saying? Some, of course, would explain, if asked, that Jesus was actually being punished by God for the sins that we either committed ourselves or which we inherited from Adam when he ate that apple in the Garden of Eden...or both! And then, they'll go on to claim we can have our sins "forgiven" as a result! Wait a minute! Let's break down this idea--First, it implies that God cannot just decide to forgive us of sins, ya know, like Jesus said He would as we forgive others of their sins against us (from his most famous example prayer)! It's like God, somehow, lacks the capacity to forgive! That He's got some deep-down need to get back at us! To take out revenge! Secondly, if there's any truth to the idea that, without Jesus' PAYMENT, God not only takes out equal revenge, but infinitely more, because many of these same Christians claim He would have no other choice but to torture us in the worst way possible...FOR ETERNITY! Thirdly--if Jesus PAID for our sins...that's NOT FORGIVENESS! That's a payment! Why don't they say, "Your sins were PAID for"? Well, they can't say that either, because if they did, then they could not turn right around and further claim, "Yeah, Jesus died for your sins...but you can still end up in Hell anyway...if you don't believe in the right way, or get baptized in the right way, or don't do this or don't do that," etc., etc., etc. There's something wrong with this picture! And if we read how Jesus' own disciples interpreted the meaning of his death, it becomes clear as to why! During the very first two sermons given after Jesus died and was then seen multiple times alive again, the Apostle Peter explained his death was simply a necessary part of God's plan to raise Jesus from the dead in order to prove to all the Jews he was the Messiah...and that was it! All the other stuff about making Jesus out to have been a human, blood sacrifice came along much later, mostly after Gentile pagan converts became the majority of the Church by the end of the First Century. Besides Rick Warren being a false teacher, there is no such thing as Good Friday! Christ was crucified on Thursday! Was Jesus crucified on "Good Friday"? Indeed not. Jesus himself had said, "For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth [i.e., in that part of Hades known as "Abraham's bosom"]" (Mat:12:40; Lk 16:22). The gospel includes the declaration that Christ "rose again the third day" (1 Cor:15:4). Obviously, had Christ been crucified on Friday, He couldn't possibly have spent three days and three nights in the grave by Sunday morning. We are distinctly told that the angel rolled away the stone "as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week" (Mat:28:1). The tomb was already empty at that point, so Christ must have risen from the dead sometime prior to dawn. Yet the myth of a "Good Friday" crucifixion persists, with much ritual and dogma built upon that obvious mistake. In this fact alone we have sufficient evidence of Rome's manufacture and endorsement of untruth to cast doubt upon everything else it affirms with equal dogmatism. And what can be said for the Protestants who, by the millions, so willingly go along with this error? Wednesday, Thursday, Friday-does it really matter? Yes! The day of our Lord's crucifixion is of the utmost importance. If Christ was not three days and three nights in the grave, then He lied. Moreover, His death, to fulfill prophecy, had to occur at the very time the passover lambs were being slain throughout Israel. It is an astronomical fact that Nisan 14, A.D. 32, fell on Thursday. "And it was the preparation of the passover....The Jews therefore...that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day...besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away" (Jn:19:14,31). Wait! Not a bone of the passover lamb (Ex 12:46) or of the Messiah (Ps:34:20) could be broken. Not knowing why he did it, "one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side" (Jn:19:34), fulfilling yet another scripture: "they shall look upon me whom they pierced" (Zec:12:10). John explains that the "sabbath" which began at sunset the Thursday Christ was crucified "was an high day." It was, in fact, the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, of which the first and last days were special sabbaths during which no work was to be done. That "high" sabbath ended Friday at sunset and was immediately followed by the weekly sabbath which ended at sunset on Saturday. Thus two sabbaths followed Christ's death, preventing the women from coming to the grave until the third day, Sunday morning. I would like to add a comment that was made when this post was originally made: Julie Page Jesus was crucified on the 14th of Nisan and was resurrected on the 17th of Nisan. When you look at a Hebrew calendar you will see that for the 17th to fall on a Sunday then the 14th would have fallen on a Thursday. We know the Feast of First Fruits is on the 17th of Nisan. We know that Jesus arose on the first day of the week which means that Sunday had to be Nisan 17. Not only is Jesus resurrected on the 17th of Nisan (Feast of First Fruits) but there are other things that in the Scriptures that occurred on Nisan 17. I would like to share them with you...... The Seventeenth of Nisan -- Resurrection and Salvation The theme of the festival of First Fruits is resurrection and salvation. There are several important events that happened on this day in the Bible. 1.Noah's (Noach) ark rests on Mount Ararat (Genesis 8:4). 2.Israel crosses the Red Sea (Exodus [Shemot] 3:18; 5:3, 14). 3.Israel eats the first fruits of the Promised Land (Joshua 5:10-12). The manna that G-d gave from Heaven during the days in the wilderness ceased the sixteenth day of Nisan after the people ate of the old corn of the land. The day following was the seventeenth of Nisan, the day when the children of Israel ate the first fruits of the Promised Land. 4.Haman is defeated (Esther 3:1-6). In the Book of Esther, Haman plotted to kill all the Jews in Persia and Media. Haman had ten sons (Esther 9:12). By this, we can see that Haman is a type of the false Messiah (antichrist). A decree was sent out on the thirteenth of Nisan that all the Jews would be killed (Esther 3:12). Upon hearing this news, Esther proclaims a three-day fast, which would be Nisan 14-16 (Esther 4:16). On the sixteenth of Nisan, Esther risked her life when she came to King Ahasuerus. The king asked her, in effect, "Tell me, what do you want?" Esther said, "If it please the king, may the king and Haman come this day to the banquet that I have prepared for him" (Esther 5:4 NAS). This was the sixteenth day of Nisan. At the banquet, the king again asked Esther what she wanted, and she asked the king to come to another banquet to be held the next day, the seventeenth of Nisan. On this day, Haman (a type of the false Messiah or antichrist, as well as of satan [Ha satan]) is hanged. 5.The resurrection of Yeshua, the Messiah (John 12:24; 1 Corinthians 15:16-20). Yeshua celebrated the festival of First Fruits by offering Himself as the first fruits to all future generations (Matthew [Mattityahu] 27:52-53).

I used to puzzle about the ‘third day’ as well, until it was explained to me that in those days, the new day began when the stars came out. That means that Friday afternoon when Jesus died was Day 1. The second day began at sunset on Friday and the third day began at the next sunset on the Saturday. Even today, tradition dictates that Jewish festivals begin at sunset. I hope this helps!

@@karengottschalk3555 Answer: Scripture reveals the answer. Through the writings of Jeremiah, Daniel learned that the Babylonian captivity would last 70 years (Daniel 9:2). God had commanded that each seven years the Hebrew slaves should be set free, debtors forgiven, and the land given a one-year sabbath of rest (Exodus 21:2; Leviticus 25:2-4; Deuteronomy 15:1,2,12). For 490 years Israel had disobeyed this precept. In judgment, the Jews became slaves of Babylon while their land rested for 70 years of sabbaths. Daniel confessed this sin, pondering and praying, and was given the revelation that another period of 490 years (70 weeks of years) lay ahead for his people and for Jerusalem (Daniel 9:24). Then all of Israel’s sins would be purged, all prophecy fulfilled and ended, and the Messiah would reign on David’s throne in Jerusalem. These 70 weeks of years were to be counted “from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem” (v. 25). That crucial date is given to us in Scripture. Nehemiah tells us: “in the month Nisan, in the twentieth year of Artaxerxes the king” (Nehemiah 2:1), he received the authorization to rebuild Jerusalem…There were several Artaxerxes, but only one, Longimanus, who ruled more than 20 years-from 465-425 BC. Thus we have the key date from which this incredible prophecy was to be calculated: Nisan 1, 445 BC. At the end of 69 of these “weeks” (7x69 = 483 years) “Messiah the Prince” would be made known to Israel (Daniel 9:25) and then “be cut off [slain]” (v. 26). Counting 483 years…on that very day, now celebrated as Palm Sunday, Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a young donkey and was hailed as Messiah the Prince! (See also Zechariah 9:9) There is, however, an even deeper meaning to the phrase, “In the fulness of time”: [that day] was the tenth of Nisan. On that day, the Passover lamb was taken from the flock and placed under observation for four days to make certain that it was “without blemish.” During the same four days, Christ, whom John the Baptist had hailed as “the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world” (John:1:29), was likewise on display before Israel. On the fourteenth of Nisan, “the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it [the passover lamb] in the evening [between 3:00 and 6:00 pm]” (Exodus 12:6). It was during that precise time period that Jesus died on the cross! In fact, the rabbis had determined not to arrest Jesus during Passover, “lest there be an uproar of the people” (Mark 14:2). Yet that was when He had to die. Judas was not only Satan’s pawn but God’s. Even the “thirty pieces of silver” for which he so shrewdly bargained fulfilled prophecy (Zechariah 11:12-13). Peter would declare in his Pentecost sermon, “Him...delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain” (Acts 2:23). Paul wrote, “Christ our passover [lamb] is sacrificed for us” (1 Corinthians 5:7). The fourteenth of Nisan began at sunset Wednesday evening. That night, Jesus and His disciples had the “last supper” in the upper room where they were preparing to eat the Passover the following night. At this meal “before the feast of the passover” (John 13:1), Jesus told His disciples, “One of you shall betray me” (John 13:21). Earlier He said, significantly, “I tell you before...that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe that I am he” (John 13:19). The word “he” is in italics and does not appear in the original. Jesus was declaring once again to His disciples that He was Yahweh, the I AM of Israel, who tells beforehand what will happen and makes certain that it comes to pass (Isaiah 46:9-10). Arrested by the Judas-led troop in the Garden later that night, Christ was taken secretly to the palace of Caiaphas, the high priest. A sham trial with hastily called false witnesses convened sometime after midnight and condemned Christ to death as dawn broke. Pilate, the Roman governor, was notified of the emergency. Hurriedly taken down side streets, the prisoner was received into the citadel at “the third hour” (Mark 15:25), (about 9:00 am), Nisan 14. All over Israel preparations were underway to kill the Passover lamb, which was to be eaten that night. Pilate let his citizens decide the prisoner’s fate. The bloodthirsty rabble turned against the One who had miraculously healed and fed so many of them. “Crucify him, crucify him” (Luke 23:21). “His blood be on us, and on our children” (Matthew 27:25). Shortly before noon, Jesus, scourged and beaten, was led out of the city to “the place of the skull.” By noon, the One whom Jerusalem, in fulfillment of prophecy, had hailed as its long-awaited Messiah, was hanging naked on the center cross between two thieves. Man had crucified his Creator! The next three hours of that Thursday afternoon the earth was darkened mysteriously (Matthew 27:45) as God “laid on him the iniquity of us all” (Isaiah 53:6). Thursday? Not “Good Friday”? Indeed not. Jesus himself had said, “For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth [i.e., “Abraham’s bosom”]” (Matthew 12:40; Luke 16:22). The gospel includes the declaration that Christ “rose again the third day” (1 Corinthians 15:4). Had Christ been crucified on Friday, He couldn’t possibly have spent three days and three nights in the grave by Sunday morning. We are distinctly told that the angel rolled away the stone “as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week” (Matthew 28:1). The tomb was already empty, so Christ must have risen from the dead sometime prior to dawn. Wednesday, Thursday, Friday-does it really matter? Yes! The day of our Lord’s crucifixion is of the utmost importance. If Christ was not three days and three nights in the grave, then He lied. His death, to fulfill prophecy, had to occur at the very time the Passover lambs were being slain throughout Israel. “And it was the preparation of the passover....The Jews therefore...that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day...besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away” (John 19:14,31). Wait! Not a bone of the Passover lamb (Exodus 12:46) or of the Messiah (Psalm 34:20) could be broken. Not knowing why he did it, “one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side” (John 19:34), fulfilling yet another scripture: “they shall look upon me whom they pierced” (Zechariah 12:10). John explains that the “Sabbath,” which began at sunset the Thursday Christ was crucified, “was an high day.” It was, in fact, the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, of which the first and last days were special sabbaths. It ended Friday at sunset, immediately followed by the weekly sabbath that ended at sunset on Saturday. Thus two sabbaths followed Christ’s death, preventing the women from coming to the grave until the third day, Sunday morning. The rabbis thought that having Jesus crucified proved He wasn’t the Messiah. In fact, it was one more proof that He was! The soldiers took His clothes for a souvenir and gambled for His robe (Psalm 22:18; 69:21); He was given vinegar mixed with gall to drink, nails were driven into His hands and feet, and a spear pierced His side, drawing forth the blood of our redemption-all in fulfillment of prophecy!
