I'm really impressed by the fact they sang live! I didn't expect it after watching the Descendants 2 performances on Dancing With the Stars (seemingly entirely lip-synched) and GMA (half sung live and half lip synch). Props to the cast for keeping it all live! Especially if Ross was sick!!!

This is so beyond impressive to me. I keep seeing all of these comments about how John DeLuca can't sing. He can carry a tune, but it was heavily manipulated in the movie. He sings a part in this when they're not running around and dancing (also after a bit of research I learned that he does in fact sing, and was in musicals in high school). I'm sure they had Ross do it because he's more practiced in singing while dancing so he could keep the song going.

Rewatched the guitar part after seeing your comment and I agree. The guitar sounded too perfect when he jumped for it to be live but he obviously knew how to play it based on his right and left hands. They were perfectly in sync with the audio.

It’s so refreshing how they actually sang the song while dancing! Most casts would just lip sync while dancing, but this cast made it so real! I’d much rather have a performance based on what people are actually capable of, instead of one that pretends like people can sing perfectly while also dancing energetically.
