Thank you for putting these shows together, these are a real inspiration for my daughter who has a huge interest in farming and more specifically sheep! Last year she wanted wanted to ask your mom for advice for a young shepherd. Last week she sold her first set of lambs. I just wanted to say thanks and happy new year

Here we are in high summer. Summer at last after three sodden years in a row. We're having a 'normal' dry January and, after all the heavy, compacting rain, there are cracks in any bare ground (even my veg beds). Feeding out hay to the cattle as the grass has finally gone dormant in the heat. Hoping 2023 brings everything you'd hope for 💗

Thanks Rufus. Nice to see the chats with your mum once again. Looks like she has new glasses too. Rather smart! I knew the roof was back on the barn, which was good news. I hope the TB tests have good results. It's always an anxious wait for the results, but as mum says.. There is no point in worrying as there's nothing anyone can do about it. Take care of that back, Ru.

Ha ha, thank you the back is slowly improving!! Will let you know about the TB test. Happy New Year 😊

Hello both! How did I miss the Christmas issue’ ? - no idea! Hope the testing went ok but, yes, nothing mum can do about it anyway. Rufus - hope your steel went in ok and the roof survived. Enjoy your brick dust infused meals - if nice you can tell Tom K as he is only down the road a bit. So, happy new year both and Ru, look after that naughty back - I have problems in mine so see an osteopath if it gets too nasty (not a chiropractor!!) I should pop down some time and buy you a coffee in M sometime. Paul WW village

Hi Paul, thanks so much for the message!! Great to hear from you, and happy New Year! The roof survived, the steel is in… but as you know, it’s a bad time to have half the side of your house open… Been a little bit frosty! Keep in touch, Ru

Great farming show on KZbin: “Sheepishly Me” by Sandi Brock. Canadian farmer who farms grain with her husband and has about 350 ewes that she keeps inside entirely. Very charming.

@@flankfarm it’s a must watch! It’s a series of books that have been turned into a tv show a couple of times.

@@flankfarm You’ve never heard of it?! 😲 The series is based on the books by the vet James Herriot. Set in the Yorkshire Dales. Many people of my generation (I’m 55) grew up watching the original series on TV (there’s a new version being broadcast now) and reading the books.
