Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my question! I did actually get offered a scholarship when I had auditioned for stage schools but the 75% wasn’t enough unfortunately, however, I know there are multiple ways in to the industry and I think I’m going to start looking at some of the 1 year courses you mentioned earlier, as well as trying again for some stage schools next year. Thank you guys!

Hey Brandon - see if any schools are credited with a university? For example I’m pretty sure GSA is so you can get a student loan. I went to trinity laban (trinity school of music and Laban contemporary) for musical theatre, I had to apply via CUKAD (conservatoire ucas) and my fees were the same as uni and therefore covered by student loan :)

I know I'm in a different field, but I dropped out of uni and decided to go in a completely different career direction (I was studying post production for TV, and now I'm at college becoming an electrician) and I thought that I wouldn't be able to afford the college fees, but I asked and it turned out I qualified for the course to be completely free, so I would say that whatever area you want to go into, and you need to go back into education, it is ALWAYS worth asking what finance options are available to you, and that it is often likely you won't have to pay the full fees

Thank you guys so much for addressing the topic of coming into musical theatre later on! I'm nearly 25 and made the decision to begin studying MT a year ago. I have been so scared as an older student of not succeeding, but I just knew that I had to take the leap because this is what I've always wanted to do and if I didn't do it then I would have never known how happy it could make me. Now I'm just excited to see what the future holds and I know that I can have a long, healthy career as long as I work smart and hard. Thank you for the constant motivation to keep pushing through this very weird time! Also Rachel Montgomery if you see this comment message me and we can chat about being old together!

Broadway had this trend of doing a version of a show where each cast member also played an instrument with minimal but impactful set dressing. It'd probably be an easier way of doing shows in distancing. But they might be too quiet and artsy to translate through cars. I saw Sweeney Todd in the pared down form and it was amazing. And Company did it and was filmed that I've watched. It's a unique and cool viewing experience.

I'm from Scotland (specifically the Highlands near Inverness) and we LOVE a pie in bread. Although typically it would be a roll/bap rather than slices, and common pies are scotch pie or macaroni and cheese pies! Honestly it sounds ridiculous but its amazing!

I was turned down from a couple of jobs earlier this year I thought I was perfect for, got along with the people great, really qualified...lemme tell you they were not jobs I would have wanted during this pandemic! One of them actually shut down totally for a couple of months so the job may have been cancelled soonafter if I was offered it! Instead got a job somewhere that has been super supportive during this, I got to work from home, etc. Really is true that sometimes a no is meant to be, not every opportunity ends up being a good one, sometimes something better really is down the line instead!

The drive ins are 100% illegal live shows are NOT allowed
@tijay85074 жыл бұрын
They are a long distance from the stage and also audience members allowed outside their designated area, they are not illegal, they have applied for permission and have to jump through a tonne of hoops... shows or performers would never risk it if it was illegal and there is NO law in place therefore it was never illegal per say,it was against guidelines ....
@averyjudson87444 жыл бұрын
Where do you live that it is illegal? As long as everyone is socially distanced and the performers as well are kept safe I don’t see the issue. I am sure the producers had to run this plan before the proper authorities before they announced the tour and began to sell tickets 😅
@doyouhearthepeoplesing24 жыл бұрын

@doyouhearthepeoplesing24 жыл бұрын
@@tijay8507 they are illegal live shows are illegal other wise the dam theatres would be open wouldn’t they
@conniepeach32364 жыл бұрын
The theatres are closed due to it being hard to regulate the number of people inside, the ensure appropriate distances, and that being in an enclosed space puts everyone at greater risk. The drive ins are socially distanced, and the two separate groups of performers (6 in main cast, 4 in the band) will be able to rehearse together maintaining social distancing. The producers would have needed to seek official advice before even talking to the casts about these shows, let alone announcing a full tour. Therefore, clearly, these drive ins are government approved. The setting is entirely different to that of a theatre and so isn't directly comparable (outdoors, have to provide own seating, no contact with anyone other than a steward scanning a ticket, rather than close proximity to others indoors with bars and restaurants)
