Be careful in the Philippines. 37% of the population live in slums according to the world bank. It has the highest murder rate in all of South East Asia, and the crime rate is also one of the highest in Asia. Please be careful of the food too, many restaurants in the Philippines refry chicken bones recycled from the garbage called “pagpag”.

Jay and his family are not moving in other countries but rather visiting other Asian countries as part of their future travel plan to add balance in their life. They prefer Philippines as their home based 😊. They like it here and well adjusted in our island life. Let' s support their channel because they are deserving family. They are a good asset in this country blogging their experience living in the island, this is good for tourism. If our own people living overseas for whatever reasons.....I can imagine other foriegners loving our country and live here as well❤! If it is because of low cost of living and affordable to live on, then so be it! Would you not do the same thing especially in current sky rocketing economy? It is the reality of life now. At the same time, they are spending their money here and boosting our economy by promoting the beauty of island and their journey! Its a good thing and win win situation♥️! My one cent.

That the website is up and running presently at this time. I'm only on a tourist visa. I am married to a Filipino. But I did renew my visa online. They emailed me my receipt and documents. IRR stands for "Implementing Rules & Regulations". That will be issued after the bill proposing for the Digital Nomad Visa has already been passed into law which has yet to happen. I believe House Bill 8165 proposing for Digital Nomad Visa is still being tackled in the House of Representatives! Coincidentally, the author of the bill is the representative from the 1st Congressional District of Surigao del Norte which Siargao is part of. By the way, the head office of the Bureau of Immigration in Manila will be transferring soon to their newly constructed building in Macapagal Avenue in Pasay. Just a heads up just in case you want to go to the head office of the Bureau of Immigration in Metro Manila.

I was scheduled to leave the Philippines on the last day of my visa. My plane was supposed to depart at 9:00pm. There was a delay, so the plane left at 1:00am and I was forced to pay a penalty of 3,500 pesos, about $70. The immigration lady was so angry and rude and demanded I pay her on the spot or face arrest. I handed her the money which she quickly put in her pocket and I was told to leave her office. No receipt. No stamp. Just another way they try to get your money. The domestic airlines are just as bad charging international passengers for overweight luggage knowing international weight allowances are greater than domestic, but too late for the foreign visitor once landed in Manila and catching a domestic flight.
