It is very important that as we fight to make the world a better place, we take a moment to soak in our achievements. It is too easy these days, with all this information at our fingertips, to quickly jump to the next cause or the next bad news and not acknowledge how much progress we've made. Of course, just seeking out the good news and not taking action or time to learn about other harmful practices is not good, but we need to remind ourselves why we are fighting, and what incredible things collective power and action can achieve. Go humans! I hope we all do something this week to make the world a better place.

So true. It feels like we sometimes are made to feel guilty for taking in the good, so we just feel stuck in this pit of despair which is no good for us, or the planet. So finding time to seek out solutions and reasons to be hopeful is important not just for our own health but for the planet’s health too.💚

The puffin's story always makes me cry cuz the one responsible for bringing all this species back to this big numbers is a researcher that had a few theories and wanted to try new methods, and no one believed in him, even making fun of him at the start 😢 But after the numbers were showing his methods were just as valid as any other scientific one, he got the recognition he deserves, on the big part he played on making them thrive again, so i'm so happy for the puffins and the guy 😊💖✨🌈

The frog spa one made me tear up. When I was a freshman in high school, I attended a program where I went on a bus for a portion of the school day to the local science museum to learn a variety of subjects in place of taking a regular science class. One of my favorite teachers had told our class about malformations in frogs, and the subject really worried me. Frogs aren’t just cool and (in my opinion) cute, they’re also so important to the ecosystem, and they’re an indicator of how healthy the environment is! I never got to say goodbye to that teacher at the end of the year because of the Troubled Teen Industry taking me away for my thoughts of su1cide. I wish there were more good news on that front, but I’m glad that at least one of my abusive programs was shut down. Still, I’ll never forgive those involved for taking away over a year of my life. I am upset that I didn’t get any notice before I disappeared to everyone. When I heard the news about the frog spas, though, it took me back to my fond memories of talking in class about advocating for the environment. To that teacher who always encouraged us to think and speak up. He would’ve loved to know this- He probably *does* know, and it makes me tear up to think about. I miss him, I miss that school and learning about science, and the frog story appealed to that part of me. I realize a lot of these factors aren’t directly related to the frogs, but overall I’m glad that the frogs have hope for the future and that I remembered that time in a positive light.

Your videos remind me that there are people who care as much as I do. I right now am doing my own personal project to save the wetlands around where I live. I haven’t gotten too far yet, but I’ve been growing native trees to replace the ones that got destroyed by ash beetles. I’m going to plant the first one today. Sadly, there’s not just been beetles destroying them. Businesses have been tearing them down to make way for homes. Trees that are hundreds of years old, animals being displaced, all for some cheaply built development to be put up. I think they know those houses will flood almost constantly, as the wetlands help keep the water levels down, and without them, there’s nowhere for the water to go! I don’t know how they got themselves a permit, as some of the areas are protected, or maybe they’re doing it illegally. Either way, I don’t know what to do. I’m watching them being torn up, the forests I grew up playing in. Does anyone have any ideas?
@vincentvancoughh4 ай бұрын
In case you’ve not thought about it already - contact your local environmental group if you have one and the local news too. Post about it on social media and make a huge fuss about it. If you think the developments are illegal, is there a legal advocacy organisation you could enlist in your cause? It’s a lot of hard work doing the right thing but you sound very passionate, I wish you the best of luck!

Big wins this month! In extra good news, south africa just implemented a climate change bill that will have big implications on the growing green economy of the country (as i understand, the south african version of the green new deal), so that rocks!

It's so nice to see a channel dedicated to good news, as in the flood of news the worst ones are always raising at the top. There is much to do, but also much to celebrate!
