I’ve learnt patchwork in lockdowns 1&2 Earned virtual challenge medals during lockdowns 2-4 Panicked through lockdown 4 because will my 5 night staycation happen? (It did…just) Worried through lockdown 5 - started a week after I got back from my vacay and gave me bills - tax bills, holiday bills, and suddenly no work=no pay Lockdown 6? I’m in a mire of chest-deep quicksand. Hope is mostly gone and what little remains is dying fast. There’s nothing to do, nowhere to go, every single thing takes hours if it gets done at all. Apathy, tiredness, doomscrolling, insomnia, sleep - rinse and repeat. What day is it? Who knows? Who cares? What does it matter anyway?

@@laurahibble5947 I was kind of joking and so was the book / film. A big part of the story is that neither angels nor demons are particularly good in the long. Crowley in particular says that he didn't fall, he just "wandered vaguely downwards". A defining trait of Crowley and Aziraphel are how much they love humanity and his they've embraced it. Whatever the case Crowley does seem broadly quite good at doing "demonic evil". His redesign of the M25 actually resulted in it going on fire. His explanation of his acts do make a lot of sense. You might supposedly value losing your mobile network, but many people depend on it and will become very angry if it goes down. Millions of people in London being slightly to extremely angry, is sure to make thousands of people less virtuous. In contrast, a demon tempting one priest with a prostitute is relatively small scale.

I've listened to this several times, but I think this is the first time where I've truly appreciated how much Aziraphale is trying to get Crowley to come over without outright asking him to. He's "shouldn't you be out and about making people miserable," and when Crowley says they're miserable enough, Aziraphale specifically points out, "I'm not," as if to say "come and make me 'miserable'." And then Aziraphale turns down Crowley's offer to come over by stating that "it would be against all the rules," which he knows is like catnip to a demon. Plus, he mentions the burglary. Out loud, sure, he says he handled it, but the subtext is, "We need to fight together, which means we need to BE together." Sometimes, I just can't get over how good the writing for series is. Three and a half minutes and you can perfectly understand the situation AND the characters' personalities.

Came back to relisten after s2 and BOY does this hit differently. Aziraphale sounded so disappointed to turn Crowley down even though he’s the one doing it himself. They’ve always been like this: they know exactly what they want from each other, but Aziraphale’s never felt like he could act on it. It’s always on Crowley, the one with more relative freedom, to begin the temptation, and on Aziraphale to deny himself.

Nah,he sounded so pleasantly surprised about it- _like if he was just trying to do some spring cleaning around his bookshop,and immediately stumbled upon it in a far corner of the shop that he did not know that they were there (with some in storage) previously,put them away and only took the ones that had a..particular recipe or two that caught his eye (though,to be fair-one or two is a bit of an understatement with Mr.Aziraphale over here,y'know-bookworm and all..haha-haha..) and thus tried to make them himself,apparently-so then.._
