Reason of no butterfly effect is that shadows didn't change the history before Shiori die. Most of the people and shadows were dead in World War II. Rest of the shadows just living underground and almost did nothing. Most of the people in the island like Shinpei's parent and Allen are immigrants.

Unless I missed something, it bothered me that Shinpei didn’t have a scene with his parents, since they’d be alive. And things would’ve changed such as him not living with Ushios family, etc.

The only thing I can't accept is that the real heroine in the whole series is Shadow Ushio, instead of Ushio. Then why does Ushio have memories of Shadow Ushio from the past loops? To me it's kind of sad that the real heroine has to disappear in the end. But yeah the whole series was trying to convey that if the shadows aren't controlled to kill people, they definitely are the same personality as the original. For Ryunosuke's daughter, it's pretty clear they are not direct descendants of Karakiri Haine (The Haine 300 years ago was this name) since the Karakiri family name went elsewhere. It is more theorized that she could be a reincarnation of Haine. (it's a concept in Eastern religions that people can be reborn in another time after they die, they effectively have the same soul) Both Haine got the same VA which makes this theory more convincing (aka they got the same "soul").

I think the shadow ushio transferred her memories to the real ushio that's why she was able to recall everything. I mean, the shadow ushio is basically her, right, just on a shadow's body? Cuz her memories, personality, consciousness, and everything was all in the mind and it was transferred to the shadow then was passed to the real ushio; just like 'Avatar,' where the guy transfers his consciousness into an alien body.

Great show. Thanks for the review videos. Yeah, lots we can nitpick. I felt they could have done more with Shide, with the Render-power, characters could have had more fleshed out arcs, etc. They should have left out the epilogue scene of Ushio's birthday. Ending the show at the festival when Shinpei gets his memories back would have been a nice, ominous touch.

I really enjoyed the show, but as soon as it was over, I wrote 3 endings that I found better. Thanks to your view of Ushio bending the time/reality to make this happen and her having all the memories, I can accept this ending. It really bothered me that: - the heroes were gone, and all the character development didn't happen(I hate memory loss as a plot/excuse) - Nothing is changed on the island by changing something 300 years ago.

Maybe the famine never happened in the finale timeline because it was caused by the shadows replacing a sizeable amount of marine life. As soon as Hiruko was killed in its whale form, marine life slowly recovered to the point it wasn't as relevant to the island's history

I wished all the memories remained. Wiping everything that happened from everyone's memory, feels like you killed something that once existed. This bitter and beautiful thing that once existed.it feels like a beautiful character that we all went this journey with, emotionally got touched by, is just gone now. Memory was one of the biggest aspects of the story that meant so much to every characters and to us. The whole idea was even if a clone had the same memories, it's almost as if it's the real thing. It still thinks and feels just like the real person. It still loves its friends like it's the real person. To me shadow Ushio was its own person in a way that created new memories and new experiences bc it was her doing everything in the show, not real Ushio. I desperately wished shadow Ushio's memories were transfered to real Ushio's because I want everything she had done, to be known and appreciated. Same with Shinpei. So I hope real Ushio actually had all the memories in the end. And if Shinpei's memories were kept, he'd KNOW why Ushio meant so much to him and why he meant so much to her. Shadow Ushio admits she's not the real thing but to everyone else she was just as good. That's all that mattered to all of us.

they remembered because they remembered the memory of when they talked about how much food shinpei was gonna buy for her at the clinic. At that point, the fireworks go wild that shows that they both remembered.

For me atleast it was ended as well and extended based on I read the manga and Haine reincarnation is pretty good and at the same time kinda miss the show since I like the plot they really tossed it up the manga and extended the ending of finale chapters

I have a question about summer rendering but only people who watched the full anime are allowed to keep reading this comment. In the (first loop) How the old man told shinpie in Alan restaurant that shinpie asked him about hisru?! And in the 3rd loop we see shinpie ask the old man about hisru.that doesn't make any sense to me,since shinpie the only one who can loop back how that old man told shinpie in the first loop what happened in the 3rd loop.

I think the show was great, but I was actually disappointed in the ending. I think the ending being a good resolution, meaning people lived and it was all happy, it's a nice sentiment...but it made the rest of the show weak because of it. There is no rewatchability, and any death is rendered meaningless (no pun intended). Obviously the point is the second chance factor of being able to RE:ZERO yourself, but that still has it's limits and if done wrong, could spell someone's death, which is shown in the show, with the death of one of the characters. Problem is, now that no one dies, the impact of any permanent death is now gone. I think having some of the dark moments in the show stay, and having some deaths permanent, aside the shadows, would have had a bigger impact.

I am pretty much sure shiori's dad is not ryu. The history was rewrited the same just without the shadows so most likely shiori's still ended up with the original dad. Then because ryu is alive so he found a partner, got married and had a child named her haine

If Disney had the strength to go after few channels like these, then they're just starting fire to the rabid fanbase. But it appears they add Bleach on Hulu so good for them. guys, i dropped watching this after the shadow girl stabbed (didn watched forget her name) because the plot is so bad for her to die in "empty" room with main character can see every inch of the room. i even know who is the big shadow guy at episode 6 maybe? so.. did i need to watch it till the end? (it just it goes from horror mystery to mirai nikki real fast)
