those little valves were meant to prevent fuel from draining out of the carb back into the line -check valve-, preventing empty bowl and hard to start situation in some models. They are not important and can be removed if you have no carb issues with hard starts.

Nice video, Question: What size wrench for the big carb nut and what size tor the fuel line nut? Thanks!

Thank you! 😊👍🏻 I’m pretty sure the fuel line nut is 5/8” but regardless, make sure you use a line wrench. For the big nut I usually use a medium-size crescent wrench and that works really well.

I had same issue valve sticking now i just remove them and never have to worry ,my thought is the ethanol in fuel these days ruins the rubber /plastic.Can and will leave you in a bad predicament .
