fr, black flag is literally about the CREED. Edward’s whole arc leads to him to the assassins creed. Parkour? Check Stealth? Check Assasins? Check Cool Combat? Check Templars? Check Modern day story? Check The whole pirate theme combined with the core AC elements is what makes this game so great. It gives you the best of both worlds. Look at Valhalla etc.. they try to be like black flag. They make a huge open world yet can’t satisfy that core Assassins creed element like Black flag done whilst also making a big open world with a pirate theme. Saying black flag is a bad AC game is a lazy claim.

Got the pin mate, I couldn’t have put it better myself An absolutely brilliant Assassin’s Creed game as well as being the ultimate pirate fantasy

combat and moder day story is meh, and imo mechanical, tools and details downgrade from ac3 making me not enjoys Ac4 as much as it should be, but still it's a good ac game

Valhalla is a decent $30 game. Valahalla is better than Black Flag because it can throw a smokebomb :^)

You have to pay extra to be able to have the smoke arrow lmao An Ac game with a smoke bomb as paid dlc…

Black Flag was a fantastic & natural spin of the Assassin's Creed formula. Gameplay wise, the on-foot gameplay is as Assassin's Creed as you could possibly get. And the game's story and Edward as a character is STILL Assassin's Creed. It's just that we're playing from a perspective of a person who has no knowledge of the creed but gradually starts understanding it more and wants to seek redemption from it once he realizes his greed and obsession with living a glamorous life has practically ruined his relationship with everyone.

Legitimately one of the best stealth systems in the series (Yes, it’s better than Unity)
@moatazamrelrawy97655 ай бұрын
Ofc, it is better than unity even valhalla has a better stealth system than unity, In Valhalla the sleep arrows fucking work unlike the smoke bomb of unity which enemies can see through it and is basically useless.

@@Wbubbles3998 I'd argue Black Flag has the best Enemy Detection Framework. I really dont why they had to reinvent that wheel... Stealth gameplay-wise? That's AC: Revelations aka Unity before Unity. Unity had the best Assassin mocap animations.

Better detection but not better stealth

Nothing screams stealth more than STRAIGHT UP SHOOTING THE MAN WITH YOUR PISTOL. On a serious note though, good shit.

The biggest letdown of this game's stealth is that you can no longer throw smoke bombs at enemies. Everything else is simply god tier, and with Rogue it's the last game in the series until Mirage where the detection system isn't broken. Also would have loved if rope darts were not consumed just by pulling an enemy, like in AC3.
@UserNot_Known5 ай бұрын
Yeah, I agree. I wish you could throw smoke bombs. I don’t get how this was a feature in AC2, Brotherhood etc but it was removed, weird.
@Wbubbles39985 ай бұрын
It’s not in 2, it first appeared in Brotherhood I do definitely miss throwable smoke when I play BF but I feel the darts more than make up for it especially because you can aim them and remain hidden I think Rogue took it a bit far by allowing us to quickshot a sleep/berserk bomb lol Also I REALLY disagree about the detection system comment, the detection in Syndicate, Origins and Odyssey is genuinely fine imo. The detection issues really only came back for Valhalla
@mThund3R_5 ай бұрын
@@Wbubbles3998 Yeah, I guess Syndicate and Origins aren't that bad, but Syndicate sometimes didn't let you assassinate an enemy from the front, sending you straight into combat, and Origins removed the investigation phase, which means no more baiting enemies. About Odyssey, it has that same problem as Origins, but at least they added a slow motion stat to react and kill whoever detected you, which made things work, until Valhalla made slow mo tied to difficulty, that is. Also I dislike the RPG trilogy's "aware state", where enemies instantly detect you if they are alert. Origins had it, but only while enemies were actively fighting, whereas in Odyssey they retained aware state for longer, and Valhalla straight up made them alert through the whole searching process. At least we can agree that they're miles better than Unity, except for Valhalla imo (actually, maybe post-launch Valhalla is also better? With smoke arrows straight up interrupting detection, and whistle actually working without alerting enemies? Still better than having no whistle at all, eh Unity?)

It's still pretty weird that we didn't have manual crouch and cover buttons back then. 2 very simple features but 2 very vital parts of any stealth game. Good level design but those 2 simple missing mechanics held this game back from beeing a good stealth game in my eyes.
@Wbubbles39985 ай бұрын
You’re just wrong These games are designed a specific way and them not having a crouch button affects nothing because they weren’t designed with it in mind Even Ac games that have a crouch button, most high skill players don’t use it because the natural aesthetic that comes from playing these games in a confident way, shooting projectiles and walking upright and using all your tools, is far more fun and engaging than crouching and ducking behind cover An Assassin hides in plain sight, they don’t duck for cover
