Good Samaritans at Carnival Stop Out-of-Control Ride

Just as people flock back to theme parks post-pandemic, there have been a number of accidents on popular rides. The latest incident could have ended in disaster if not for some quick-thinking heroes who banded together to control the ride. It happened at a festival in Michigan. Scary video shows the base of a “Magic Carpet Ride” start to come apart and people fear it will topple over, injuring the people strapped into the ride. That’s when a group of good Samaritans come to their rescue. #InsideEdition

Reasons like this I don't trust carnival rides. I'll ride the ones at bigger amusement parks but I don't trust carnivals. I think they definitely get skipped on a lot of safety protocols.

I was on this ride and it was the most terrifying thing I have ever gone through. I am so extremely thankful for the amazing people who helped stop the ride. They prevented many possible injuries and helped complete strangers without asking for anything in return. So for this, I thank you for protecting me.

To people getting bothered by the person recording, why? All those people came to help so it's best to keep recording for insurance purposes etc.. Do people asking why operator didn't "just pull the plug" or " stop button" ditch high school. Depending on how fast it was going the seats will be pushed back up into the air and of course what goes up comes down with the same force and pushed back up again which puts in a cycle untill the environment slows it down.

I worked at a "pop up" carnival... I realized how rides were so unregulated and relied heavily on folks that unqualified. That alone made me stop going in big rides. This alone emboldens how I feel thank God they were OK.

That was the ride operator. He hit the emergency stop, jumped off the platform and grabbed the rail. They kind of did him dirty by making it sound like he just bailed and left the people in the ride hanging. Then once it got stable he and the guy in the red sweater jumped back on and grabbed the thing to stop it and let the riders off.

My husband ran the "slime machine" a tiny purple and green roller coaster. Little kids ride it. It jumped track and he literally caught it in his hands nose first. A woman snot cried on his shirt for saving her kids from decapitation.

I was on the swing ride at the exhibition place 20 years ago and the big ball in the middle started tilting and all the kids were being dragged on the ground than whipped in the air. So many kids went to the hospital with broken legs and really bad scraps. My dad was in the news for it. I was okay I tucked my legs in but got bumped on the ground a lot. My dad was nice and said the exhibition has been going on for over 50 years and nothing like that has ever happened.
