Although you are a professional 9p level it is a very nice thing to present the GO game also for total beginners.

Thank you Mr. Redmond for doing this series; very helpful for this 30 kyu player :-) an aside - I have been pricing go boards and stones and have had a huge shock as to the prices. Even for a cheap bamboo board (which will not last a humid summer) and some melanite stones it's around 100USD. I love Go so I will have to make a few sacrifices so I can have a set of board and stones that will last.

Just started learning Go about 4 days ago and have come across two good videos so far, and now your becomes three. I learned some good tips on why stones are played in certain places and how to grab a large space by spacing out stones. One thing that puzzles me is why would the game be over the way you showed the board at the end. For example, why wouldn't/couldn't white play in that large black territory to reduce the number of points black could claim?

kzbin.info/aero/PLW5_cMTm0wvamCNX7qNoUqbXxeHt9n67i Go ahead and watch the other videos in this playlist, link above. The thing is, White would not be able to create a living group inside the Black area. The videos about eyes partially explain about that, and the idea of captured stones comes up in some of the example games. After a few videos, you are ready to start playing. There are free Go servers on the net, such as OGS online-go.com/
