Based on Luke 2:8-20
I heard a radio ad the other day that said something like "What better way to celebrate than to enjoy the KFC Festive Feast?..."
I laughed to myself and thought, "As tasty as that sounds, I could think of a few better ways to celebrate Christmas."
Over the next couple days, the Lord gave me this song based on Luke 2:8-20.
It's a rough recording, and a little rushed, but I just wanted to share this now in hopes to encourage and motivate us to get the the Good News out with excitement like those shepherds did! After all, we have the rest of the story and our Good News is even more complete!
Hope you enjoy. Merry Christmas and Good Tidings!
Zach
"GOOD TIDINGS"
By Zach Rhodes
Based on Luke 2:8-20
Good tidings - Great joy.
Good tidings - Great joy.
What better way, to celebrate,
Than to declare this truth?
Our Saviour came. Jesus, His name. (v. 21)
It’s time to share this news.
Good Tidings.
The angel went where God had sent,
To shepherds there abiding, (v. 8)
Lit up that field, and said “Don’t fear, (v. 9)
For I’m bringing you good tidings.” (v. 10)
What better way, to celebrate,
Than to declare this truth?
Our Saviour came. Jesus, His name. (v. 21)
It’s time to share this news.
Good Tidings.
The Good News that the angels gave, (v. 11-12)
Was told to lowly shepherd men. (v. 9, 13, 14)
They went with haste and found the babe.(v. 16)
Just like it was told to them. (v. 17)
Those Shepherds saw and heard so much,(v. 20)
And spread the Word made known to them. (v. 20)
But we know how that babe grew up.
He died for all and rose again!
What better way, to celebrate,
Than to declare this truth?
Our Saviour came. Jesus, His name. (v. 21)
It’s time to share this news.
Good Tidings.
If shepherds made it known broad, (v. 17)
And went out glorifying. (v. 20)
Then we can share the Son of God.
And go out with good tidings! (v. 10)
What better way, to celebrate,
Than to declare this truth?
Our Saviour came. Jesus, His name. (v. 21)
It’s time to share this news.
Good Tidings.
Good tidings - Great joy.
