Florida should have at least came to some kind of compromise with James. It was always her way or the highway. James could have made great money to get them out of the projects.

$500.00 a week in those days (mid 70's) would be around $2881.02 in today's money (inflation calculator). James would need to keep some for his living expenses but probably could've sent back home around $1500 at least each week. They could move out of the ghetto and into a nice house. But the sacrifice of his being gone a full year was too great. What about after the year was over, what would he do then? Why can't they move there to be with him? I know... Alaska but it probably wouldn't be too bad. I hear it's beautiful up there but you'd have to like cold weather.

He would have had the experience after that year to demand other high paying gigs. Possibly another pipeline job. That was the point of all this. He had an opportunity to get big time experience.
@Capcoor3 ай бұрын
@@themagicians1122 That’s ridiculous. If they had taken the job, that would’ve been pretty much the end of the show. In the book First Blood, at the end of the book Rambo gets killed. But had they kept that ending, there would have been no sequels. Same principle. Norman Lear ended the show with them getting out of the ghetto eventually.
