Working the fly wheel is my greatest and most motivating take away. I read the book many years ago and the thought fell a away in time. Great summary. Execution by Bossidy and Team Charan is another favourite.

The one word in the book: discipline. 1. Discipline of people. Gets to different kinds of leaders. Another part is "first who then what". To have discipline to have the best people. Put your best people on the best opportunities, not the best problems. 2. Discipline of thoughts. a) Confront the brutal facts: create a environment that truth prevails; the Stockdale paradox "prisoners who survived were the ones that had faith and faced the brutal reality". b) The hedgehog Concept: what you are passionate about, what you can best at, what drives your economic engine. 3. Discipline of action.
