@lissandrafreljord7913 Жыл бұрын
I think that's what happened with a lot of the artists of the 2000s like Beyonce, and especially Christina Aguilera. When they debuted, they wanted to show off that they can saaang. But they ended up overfrying a simple classic tune like a Christmas carol with unnecessary windy and over the top melismas, ultimately ruining the melody, hence the minus points in musicality. It's only human. Glad to see they improved and found the good balance between their individual style and maintaining the song's melody. On the other hand, those from the 80s and 90s like Whitney, Celine, and Mariah, despite they were also blamed for oversinging, their riffs and runs sound rather modest compared to how all these singers now like to overbelt it and do crazy unnecessary vocal acrobatics. I guess the 90s was the era where less is more.

Mariah’s musicality is always on point. Her runs while complex always make sense and fit in the song. Christina definitely got better and more control with time.
@arinrayscumdump Жыл бұрын
I agree Christina got more in control and learned to be one with music as opposed to what she does before. You know back then she used to place runs all over one song. Christina and Beyonce had this syndrome back in the day and they tend to show off too much vocally that it doesn't make sense anymore. Now they both became better. In Mariah's case, she's always excellent no doubt.

She's more volatile when it comes to live performance due to her stress, rest, health, and any other performance compromising element, but I can see how she never lost that passion about music itself.

9:14 In 2013, Mariah's vocal cords hacked ai. Her musicality is the human part; with that musicality, it really adds up that her childhood classmate said that she sounds like there are instruments and music playing behind her, when she sings a capella. 🎶🐦👸 2:02 Chloe's attempt sounded good, then I heard 2:15 Tori's great attempt. Tori keeps blowing our minds 2:27 🤯 2:53 John Legend caught me by surprise with that riff, especially with the heaviness of his voice. He's deserves more recognition in the vocal community 👏 4:16 & 7:16 Beyonce & Christina Aguilera get the awards for most improved! They had a feud with Musi Calité back then. 👩🎓👩🎓 5:12 Faouzia is definitely one to keep an eye on because she does it so effortlessly and with great musicality plus with a unique approach. 🥰 5:28 The fact that FLO did harmonies on that complex riff is astounding. Jazmine Sullivan gets major props for constructing and executing these great riffs though! 👍👍👍 7:04 Love how you gave Aretha her own category *Soul* 👑 8:18 Whitney had the golden voice. A velvety, warm and relatively large voice yet quite agile with impressive musicality. 💛 8:56 For someone as skilled as Avery with riffs and runs, it's baffling that the musicality mostly eludes him. 😯 He reminds me of Beyonce and Christina, when they were younger.
