Sand blast it yourself. Body work it. Paint it solid Winder yellow. Bed line the interior. Stick a 22RE Toyota engine and powertrain in it.Throw a Holley on it. Marlin Crawler T-case. Stick some Dana 44s under it with some OME Jeep YJ springs.

Robby, aii my respect! Ive lost my mobility this past year so you have me drooling most of the time. I usually watch you on my 37 inch TV 📺 via the Roku. Any way tell Matt he needs a Bestop replacement top and a Sidekick or chevy Tracker (same as the sidekick except repackaged) engine as the Samauri engine is anemic. I had an 86... the hood release was under the dash left of the steering column. I like the two tone yellow -- follow the stripe in a peralized yellow all the way back to the middle of rear where they meet for your touch. then leave the rest gloss yellow....after all that aint no banana!

Samurai: If you buy the aftermarket aluminum windshield hinges that just bolt on and the supports that go on the hood, you can lay that windshield down like a Jeep. I did it to mine and I love it! Low Range Off Road carries the hood hinges.

LoL I've seen more Bondo. When I was a teen (MANY years ago) my dad gave me a 69 Javelin to mess with. I asked the body men that worked for him and they said to start sanding. I began. I discovered that the entire body line that runs along the quarter panel on the Javelin (but NOT on an AMX) had been filled in with bondo. It was at least 3/4" thick!

The front pumper on there is for a Big Truck. It's goes on the bottom of the sleeper and cab . For The 2 in Round lights they had for Big Trucks. That's what it looks like..Great Video Guys...

Cant wait to see what you do ith the Sammy. Mine is a 1992 Suzuki Jimny, looks llke the Sammy but has a 657cc 3 cyl. turbo and intercooled. It has a tin top and is narrower by about 4 inches. 5 speed (granny 1st gear) 4wd. Some one painted it with a roller.

Yellow with the black stripes would be cool. I think copy the original hood and side stripes and I'm not sure about the rear. I'd think about copying the cool hood and side stripes and leaving the back solid Yellow possibly. Then the grill black.

The hood release cable is in the glove box, since it has a key lock. The Suzuki Samurai has a soft top and anyone can enter the vehicle. And this way the battery and scissor jack are secured under the hood, since the release is locked in the glove box.

Yellow, with yellow Scotchlite zebra stripes, so it looks really awesome in headlights. I'm thinking 40 grit belt sanding just past the bare metal, then start over with all new panels might be the best solution.

i think the two tone yellow sounds interesting with the retro stripe, though the yellow with a black stripe could be cool as well, i've done the screw and slide-hammer dent pulling thing in the past, i tended to cut the screw off leaving it in the hole, and put a tack weld over it to fill it if its a large hole, or just a tack weld just to fill a small hole, then grind it nice and smooth and use the bare minimum bondo to fill the imperfections, the bronco being a truggy is a cool project as well, Congrats to big Dinner

Robbi paint it yellow and do flames with pearl metal Flake in clear coat, you won't see the flames until you get right next to it, it easy a cool easy cheap effect with maximum bang for the buck

a body shop i used to work at would call the whole sand and paint thing a "wash and wear" paint job. we would use hot soapy water anda red scuff pad to wash the vehicle than blast it with paint. worked good for customers that were goin to sell em

Hey Robbie. I recently watched a video about acid dipping to strip rather than sand blasting. The idea being the sand slightly deforms the metal and the sand left behind in hidden areas cannot be removed completely leading to possible sand in the applied finishes. What is your take?
