I think this episode is great for what it means. It seems like the krabby patties that were made with sand were a metaphor for post movie spongebob; they were made for money, not for the enjoyment of the viewer. This changed at the end, when mr krabs, thinking he was in ruin, saw that all the old fans had returned, and loved the new (old) burgers.I haven't really watched the new spongebob, but if this is where its going, i still probably wont because i dont have cable, but it looks great.

Wow I actually just watched this episode, and this was probably one of the best spongebob specials I ever seen besides Christmas who. I'm not kidding. This felt like spongebob to its best potential and felt like something written by the Simpsons writers it was that good. I highly encourage any classic spongebob fan to check this episode out. This is PROOF right there that the show has come back to its roots.

I concur. This episode was brilliant in how it satirized the nature of convenience selling the soul of the product being marketed. Sure, there are decent convenient items, but there is a reason why deliveries are up and frozen food sales are down.

Very true..spongebobs and Patrick's relationship problems were inevitable because they were forced separated BYR that doesn't mean it should've got SO much focus. Like more if the story should've been on how this whole Krabby thing would work out. Oh and that yellow box joke got redundant.

This episode is a mix of "Selling Out" and Krusty Dogs". At least in Selling Out... Mr Krabs has more of a STORY with the business men.

Personally I enjoyed "Patrick SmartPants" better than "Goodbye Krabby Patty?". And "Sell Out" was pretty funny too now that I think about it. Overall I enjoyed "Goodbye Krabby Patty?" But it was still not worth any of they hype it was given. I'd give it a B.

Sorry last comment. Because the episode had too much focus on SB & Patrick's relationship...of COURSE the pacing was slow which brought in filler and made it a bit boring. This only proves the story would've been more interesting had the Krabby Patty got more focus.
