I like to think the Quantum group was a better operating, well-oiled machine than Spectre organization, though even Quantum amassed together for the Tosca opera. While I'm no screenwriter, I always felt it would have been neat if the Spectre organization was reintroduced as having a goal to compete and destroy the Quantum Group along with its Blofeld-esque leader, Mr. White. After EON obtained the Specter rights back from the McClory Estate, suddenly it was "everyone in the Craig era worked for Spectre and Quantum was a subsidiary of Spectre - - - surprise". Spectre was reintroduced underwhelmingly and disposed of just as effortlessly almost as if the producers and audience knew it was too much of a 60s spy/Austin Powers cliche. Looking back on the film series fondly at how Dr. No introduced us to Spectre. From Russia With Love teased who the boss was. Thunderball hinted at the true power and range of its members and You Only Live Twice unmasked the architect. Such storytelling is hard to recapture.

Really wonderful that Daniel Craig came back to do another James Bond movie. And what a movie it is. Despite bemoaning how painful, and physically demanding the role is, Craig gave it 110%. A very high mark for whoever takes over the role. To be sure, the 007 producers will have a very tough time topping this one. And even though the runtime is nearly a 3 hours, I've already watched NTTD twice. My only gripes are that Christoph Waltz did not have much to do, and Rami Malek mumbled all his lines like he was channeling Marlon Brando from The Godfather. They should have a subtitle option on the Bluray just for Rami's lines. But a brilliant, thriller Bond movie, gripes notwithstanding.
@Dante-vf4sd2 жыл бұрын
Interesting, I've never like Daniels work as Bond, I see his character as someone else entirely, bland and all action to make up for it, a bit like the white version of VinDiesel in XXX, Sean Connery and Roger Moore have leagues more character.
@OverlordMasterOfMen2 жыл бұрын
Yes, great movie, but the biggest gripe being that they killed off James Bond. I should have known when they played that song from Her Majesty's Secret Service "We have all the time in the World" it was a bad omen. They dropped hints. I just had a bad feeling. I mean when James Bond gets a "wife" that lives and a daughter, and then Safin poisoned him so he couldn't touch them, then it's practically over -- and it was. What's bitter about it is that they had just rebooted James Bond in Skyfall, re-introducing Q, Moneypenny, the Aston Martin, the gadgets and the humor. I was very excited. I had no idea that they planned to kill him off in 2 movies. We don't watch James Bond because we want reality. If I want reality, I'll watch the news documentary or a historical drama. James Bond is supposed to be bigger than life. He is supposed to make it where others don't. Pathetic.

I wonder the WHY they felt the need to kill off Bond. I mean it can always have been his final one. This version of the character had been through so much, losing Vesper, M, Felix and so much more. If there was a version of Bond to deserve a happy ending it was this one. I always felt they could’ve at least had an ending where he would swear to work on a cure for what Saffin poisoned him with. Also, I wonder if Saffin had a lot of scenes cut out? There had to have been more than what we got. He’s never been my favorite actor though and I always wondered why they landed on him, of all actors.

I get that they were trapping him but I find spectre ridiculed themselves by having their ENTIRE organisation at a party anyone could walk in to. Will admit that this scene is great though. If they had a lot of operatives here instead of ALL of them then Safin's plan would make more sense. If the remaining agents were ensconced in countries around the world and safin has no way of finding all of them then nuking the world with a virus to kill everyone would at least kill all of spectre (which is after all what he wanted and would give Bond the goal of stopping him.) It is refreshing to see Bond is not making advances to Ana de adam's character though she is incredibly an eye candy.

Fun facts Daniel had so much fun with Ana on Knives out he recommended her for a Bond girl in the next film this film Daniel Craig started out as a struggling waiter in London while trying out several acting gigs and now he has become the one the only 007 do you understand how insane that is…. It would be the equivalent of someone that was homeless from California becoming the next Ethan Hunt or Jason Bourne or well you get the point….

The silliest Bond villain yet. Scientific genius... and yet... threatens to wipe out everyone of African descent in front of a black woman holding a machine gun as they're standing over a pool of flesh melting goo. Wanker!

Its Disrespectful how little screen thyme they gave Ana here in this - overall Solid Bond Film. I'm Glad and Thankful the Ruffos were Perspicuous and Perspicacious enough to "have" her as a central character in the Grey Man. 👏👏🤝👏 And It Shows. It's a Overall Better, if not Superior Film.🎨 (And Definitely. Further dialogue can Definitely Follow from this.)

It usually takes me several viewings to find every little detail in each Bond movie, including producer Michael G. Wilson’s cameos. Which on the first viewing I found him. 2:44.

Love this film!!! I just noticed something in this scene... Why didn't they just put the ear pieces in before walking into the place? And what's the point of hiding them in lipstick if she's going to blatantly shove the ear piece in his ear in front of everyone? lol

I so wish that saffin's motivation was to wipe out everyone or at least all underground organizations like MI6, CIA, Spectre, etc . Like maybe it is idk but it would've been such a badass line from him if he were to tell bond "See no one cared when all of spectre was erased"
