Goodbye Quicksilver Sport

Well I sold my Quicksilver and today we disassembled her and loaded her on a truck bound for upstate Indiana. In a few months my new plane will be ready and I will reveal it as I do my test flights at Lee's Airpark in Nancy Kentucky. Until then, I guess I'll just watch my videos and riminess! See you in the spring!

Boy I am glad to hear from you. Looks like you got things going your way. You deserve it, the things you have gone thru and had to put up a big fight! Finally moving on up to an enclosed cabin...great. I am like you, sad to see the quick go...you did some great videos! Take care and keep warm and we will be looking for updates soon. Keep up the good work...all us landlocked old timers depend on you to make our spirits fly...Boy there is nothing like defying gravity in a flying machine!!

Bittersweet. Just found your channel. I'm shopping a Quicksilver in Southern California. Excited to see what you put in the hanger next. Also working with a local LODA so I can train. Only familiar with rc gliders and aircraft to this point. Bit nervous because I'm forcing myself to watch videos of fails, crashes and saves so I understand the magnitude of impact the lack of training, maintenance, knowledge has. Thank you sir, for posting this content. You helped inspire me along this path.

Most failures are caused by an engine out or structural failure due to using unapproved hardware or parts. Always leave you a way out or a place to land in case of an engine failure. Two strokes are more common but any engine can fail. Get your training. Hang out with veteran UL Pilots as well to learn what you can. They have either experienced it or know somebody who has. I am a Cancer survivor. The radiation fried my thyroid and I get cold now. Im getting a plane with an enclosure to stay warm and out of the cold in the later months. If you keep watching the crash videos you will never enjoy the flying due to flashbacks. Maintain your equipment! Take care of your engine! Dont fly low over thick forests and use your noggin😉 Welcome to flying my friend!!

@@wingandaprayeradventures6758 Roger that! I live in San Diego. I go to the River few times a year. Usually South of Palo Verde. Imagine I should check what airspace restrictions are around. I'm sure there's plenty. I met a couple cool guys flying slopes in Carlsbad. Harris Nelson and Derek from North County flying machines. Hanging out with Harris was a blessing. Learning from the best has worked so far Glad you are still out there anyway you can be and can still log some time in the air. Staying warm sounds a pretty reasonable concession. The Quicksilver Sport I'm looking at has a recently serviced rotax 447 and some additional options. The guy selling it seems to have vetran level experience and seems willing to steer me in the right direction. Thanks for chatting me up on this I'm really excited and the timing is right.
