Goodbye, The Casagrandes

Nickelodeon's The Loud House spinoff, The Casagrandes, has been cancelled. Ronnie Anne, Bobby, and the rest of their family had the chance to shine in this expansion of The Loud House, but its third season will also be its final one. Nickelodeon is prioritizing the main Loud House episodes.
Lincoln Loud and his family is a unique addition to Nickelodeon, especially because The Loud House is the first Nicktoon in a long time that hasn't been cancelled immediately. It's actually competing with SpongeBob SquarePants, which explains why we got a Casagrandes spinoff in the first place. Unfortunately, cartoon spinoffs generally don't last long. We'll continue to see Ronnie Anne and the rest of her family throughout The Loud House.

What made the Casagrandes special is that a lot of characters didn't feel like a copy/paste version of the Loud House. They had their own personalities & quirks with many situations that worked exclusively for them that couldn't with the Louds. Plus, adding a lot of nationality in a big city helped the show carve out its own identity as well. It's sad, but at least not the Cleveland Show. IMO, the Loud House is one of the few animated shows to last past five years where the characters actually get BETTER as the show goes on.

What made me realize that this is going to be better than I thought it was going to be, well one thing is that Ally Brooke who sang the theme song, tells us in a Nickelodeon Video on the network's KZbin channel about how she sees herself in the show and such. Which I think that her part in the show is SUCH an INTERESTING story. That is one big thing that got me to get ready for its premiere in the fall of 2019.

I liked the Casagrandes for its fresh air from TLH as well as the representation of Down syndrome! As someone who has a friend with DS, seeing it be normal in The Casagrandes was really unique and cool for the awareness of disabilities! You don’t see that a lot in cartoons these days and I’m really happy they had the courage to show that on TV!

Meh. The new SpongeBobs after Season 12 just feels like a copy of Ren and Stimpy during the Games era (Season 4 and 5 are good seasons, lol.) This is why I prefer The Patrick Star Show now. I feel sad about this because honestly I liked the Casagrandes way more than the loud house due to the fact that people can relate to living with their extended family more than living with a bunch of siblings. Plus I felt connected to it I have a ton of extended family members. Granted I don’t live with them but I do see them often enough to the point where it feels like I’m living with them.

What made the show interesting and way different was that it featured a family of Hispanic/Latino background with some of the actors even being of spanish descent. Me being a Mexican/American, I admire and appreciate what the show, cast, animators/designers and directors have accomplished as well as its incorporation with culture to a broader audience. I hope to at least see more of them in the future :)

Around the mid-2000s, a trend emerged wherein, if a show on Nickelodeon doesn't pull in ratings similar to either the network favorites or their established Kid Coms during its first few weeks, it would be screwed over, cancelled quickly, and/or eventually moved to their spin-off channels to burn off the last episodes. note In other words, the network doesn't have the patience to let a show flourish and find a audience. Any show that doesn't become an instant hit and pull in monster ratings right away (allegedly, there is an unwritten policy that if an animated show doesn't pull in the same ratings as SpongeBob's right off the bat, it's considered a failure) will be killed off by the network over time. This trend has since become the norm for programming on Nickelodeon and its spin-offs, and because of that, it had to be given its own page. Despite this, it's very important to note that the Nickelodeon Animation Studio in Burbank, California is a great place to work according to former animators and creators; it's the U.S cable network in New York City that's the problem.

I felt a far better idea for a Loud House spinoff would be the Loud family all grown up - that would create some really interesting scenarios, like how the sisters would handle being aunts when one or some of the older sisters have children, what Lily wishes to grew up as, what Lincoln would do when he's matured, etc.

Say Lucy starts the process of showing us the crystal ball, and maybe for a few episodes show us the future. Like Lori and Bobby married with children, the careers and lives of the other sisters, and Lincoln. Maybe some reminiscence of past episodes, and when the arc is over after a few episodes, we cut back to the present and then something special happens. That is how I would do it if I were a crew member for that show. Which I am not, and I have so many wonderful ideas for not just this show, but for all my other favorite shows

It probably barely scraped by with the total amount of views needed to get a third season. It was likely only saved by people watching the show out of complete boredom like Sofia the First was being watched by people who did not want to admit they were watching it. There is probably more episodes until the real finale of the series since Sofia the First lasted all the way until the very end because of people watching the show who did not want to admit it. Also probably back then those people did not have any job as well. Yes the show is not new to Disney Junior.

Also the episodes were being aired when a lot of people was not interested in watching the show when it they were being aired on television, and they had time to watch the show. I believe that the Loud House might have actually been fully finished when we in middle school, and then completely remade exactly the same way since they totally forgot they made them all already. One particular Adventure Time special made available to watch on HBO max was actually aired on Cartoon Network a really long time ago. Cartoon Network has other options for airing different television shows than what you are currently seeing, but it is not being used for some reason. Take one of the Ben 10 specials that was aired on Cartoon Network, that was actually fully finished a little while before that. We only know that because we saw it by a complete accident. We were completely hooked the moment that we started to watch it.. There was also more series of Ben 10 all created at the exact time that no one will ever likely get to see on television. They are all probably just sitting there on the lawyer website(s) that are using for the same exact reasons as to why Nintendo has one as well. There could be content on there that they plan to eventually release to the public with a fully decided season number, series number, and episode number already in place. Even those made over two decades ago, as in the case with Noibat evolving at the Zapdos festival on the Nintendo lawyer website that I managed to come across. I am honestly telling the truth here. I knew everything that happened in the episode already minus Noibat even was, and what exactly it was. That was why it was held off from being released until the appropriate time, and it was bound by a contract signed so that even if they tried to, and they did try to, release it earlier than the expected time; it would not be allowed to be uploaded to the show schedule.

It was done so early that it was done even before they started to plan out the 1998 Christmas special with Ash and the Gang leaving Pikachu and Pals behind with them encountering an Ice Snorlax. The special is actually real, and I cannot seem to locate it anywhere online using traditional search terms. It is absolutely amazing to watch, and you have to have the interview that Nintendo talked about it side by side to get the full experience from watching it.

Hopefully you can figure out which game that Zapdos's cry is from reading my specific details. I know that it definitely surprised me when I figured it out. I even knew back then what the public would probably saying surrounding Zapdos's cry upon the episode finally getting released to the public. Nintendo probably wants the information stated in a very similar manner as I listed it to the public as well.

Then the Show got cancelled and he moved back, where he is now a Part of Family Guy again with some interactions with the Cleveland Show Characters.

I loved the casagrandes. I used to watch it when I was on my way to somewhere on early showings after spongebob stopped and Nick Jr. Started. I loved the episodes a lot. It had a lot of a feel to a realistic Mexican / Hispanic family. It's sad news to see the show get cancelled but we can just hope for the worst yet. It may still air on the loud house. I became a fan of TLH my sophomore year of college in the 2018-19 school year. I didn't know what to think when I found out that the Casagrandes were getting the spin off. Then it turns out that it was better than I thought. I did help support it. It is a little disappointing that they will not have their show any more. At least that TLH will feature the characters that mainly stay in the Casagrandes. More likely Ronnie Anne and Bobby for the best examples. I am sorry about the unfortunate news, but lets hope something good will follow after this amazing spinoff's cancelation.

Personally I am not a fan of this work. The art we care about always comes and goes as well, nevertheless I hope fans are able to find some sense of satisfaction with what they did get these past 3 seasons. Rarely in this life do we get the ending we wanted, but what's important ain't the conclusion or the feeling of solving some grand puzzle made in the creators' mind when conceiving it. It really is who we are as we came into the experience and how we left once we got whatever it is that the art left inside us. I hope for fans of any media that gets hacked like this that'll be enough.

I haven't kept up with this show in over a year since I stopped keeping up with The Loud House Fanchise entirety, but I'm gonna be honest, uts probably for the best. I mean we all know how The Loud House turned out after Season 3, and I have a feeling this show probably would have gone the same route. In my personal thoughts, the spinoff was alright at the time when I first watch it, but it's basically the same exact premise of The Loud House, but I had notice some differences with this show, that actually did better than The Loud House itself. Spin-offs are hard to do, depends on the character(s) Cleveland Show was not very successful or well received and that got axed after 4 seasons. It was probably just too much work for the TLH/LCG crew to carry both shows at the same time. Plus, Casagrandes just wasn’t pulling in the same ratings as its root series. It had a fair run. At least we’ll still get to see the characters appear in The Loud House Season … what is it, 7 now? … 7 or 8? I don’t know. It’ll be like the show never left.

When Nickelodeon both abandoned rerunning new episodes and then didn’t air the Christmas special at all in 2021, I think it was very clear what the fate of the show was going to be. But look, three seasons is still a big accomplishment and no matter how one may feel, at least they were never treated with the “it’s just another show” gimmick when it first premiered in 2019.

If the cancellation of "The Casagrandes" was done to focus on the primary show, this reminds me of what Maxwell Atoms did with his "Evil Con Carne" series. While both that and "Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy" were popular, he said that working on two shows at the same time was stressful. Which was why Scarr was incorporated in "Billy and Mandy" as the neighbor.

Idk why but I always liked the casagrandes more than The Loud House, not because of the Latino/Hispanic background but because of the idea and characters, it’s not 2 parents and 11 siblings, but because it had 1 bird, 1 dog, 4 siblings 2 siblings 2 parents 1 parent 2 grandparents and multiple settings the market and the apartment and all the protagonists friends, plus the tie in with TLH having multiple crossovers.

I heard that the Loud House fans had quit watching the show ever since the season 5 premiere "Schooled". Before that, I used to imagine that Season 5 would be the final season, The Louds getting new clothes and Lori decision of going to college would be the series finale. But, unfortunately it didn't live up to the expectations I was looking as they characters were the same clothes, suffer through flanderization, Lincoln Loud becoming a punching bag and have stereotypes... I mean seriously, what is up with the current people working Loud House? If I worked on The Loud House, I would make it definitely mature and keep the slice of life genre going as it was best known for. imagine that!

Lincoln being a punching bag was more like a season 1 thing. That’s one good thing about modern Loud House but I agree that Season 5’s been a little too “throw stuff at the wall to see what sticks” but I’d say the decline began in Season 4 as it became more stale.
