Welcome to Singapore, Lloyd & Mandy! Yes, costs of living here even for the average citizen can be expensive. If you want "cheaper" prices, explore as much as possible into the heartland food courts or hawker centres (avoid eating at areas near Marina Bay Sands or other popular places of interest) though. You can ask around and you may get a few good deals here and there. Hopefully that helps. Enjoy your stay in Singapore! Cheers!

Hi Mandy Kudos for being so open on your podcast about your past. It must feel so free to be accepted for who you are. I can imagine your anxiety is so high in airports bc you feel a lack of control. You’ve spent your youth having your life control stripped from you, so of course you tense up when faced with officials, police, authorities who could potentially take away the freedom you’ve worked hard for. Just meditate before flying days and remember that your trust in the universe has gotten you this far, you are safe, you can continue to trust that it will all wrk out. Remind yourself that everything is for us and when we don’t resist what the universe brings, magic happens. You will never be that rebellious victim again, you have a higher knowing, you trust that things are always happening FOR you rather than to you.💜

Welcome to Singapore! I was just binge watching all your vietnam travel videos and now you guys are in Singapore! There's definitely tons of places you can visit here. Check out the well known hawker centers all over Singapore. (Old Airport Road Hawker Centre, Tekka Centre @ Little India MRT Station, Chinatown and many more!) Definitely the unique thing about Singapore is it's Multi-Cultural society. So you can pretty much find all kinds of cuisines here! There are many tourist friendly spots that you can visit without spending too much. (You can try Clarke Quay, Gardens By The Bay (Paid Entry). Hope you guys have a blast! =) *FYI, Singapore is celebrating its 57th Birthday on 9th August. If you are staying till Saturday, definitely head over to the Marina Bay Floating Platform area around 4PM onwards. There will be a practice run showcasing awesome display of Singapore's Land, Water & Air capabilities with the inclusion of a Parade Segment.

Singapore would probably the most expensive country if you don’t know where what and how… but if you have enough money just enjoy the city.

Instead of the usual Maxwell food centre , try Golden Mile food centre. The chicken rice stall there B1-35 is my favourite and better than some famous chicken rice often seen in KZbin . B1-34 hokkien Mee is not bad as well. At Maxwell food centre try the rojak and popiah stall. There is only one there. At Hong Lim market food centre near Chinatown MRT on second floor are many of my favourites .

A few tips that will save you some money. Because the Island is on 50 klm from one side to the other is densely populated. Walking around is a breeze. Marina Gardens, Day and night especially night time amazing. The big wheel at the marina if it’s still there. It’s worth it to take a ride so huge. To see the best view of the harbour and surround is plan a snack in the restaurant at the top of Ritz Carlton . I had Pot of tea and some snacks but less expensive if you paid to go to the observatory! That was a tip from an Aussie Concierge at the Ritz good bro 😎 lol . Also China town & Little India, Little Arab streets so cheap and authentic kinda like street foodie type places. I found a cable car 🚠 ride at Santoza Island was awesome too. But all around the harbour take a boat ride on the Cannel very cheap too and you get a heads up from operator of history.. Man I walked klms and it was easy and you need to see the infinity pool at sunset Marina Bay Sands Flyer hotel Also Merlion Park but you will see that easily !! Chicken Rice is very famous and there is plenty of places that sell it. I saw many people with drones so perhaps you can get some good footage! I not know the rules there as that was 2017 I traveled there .. anyway happy walking it’s clean , safe and off the main tourist strip is an experience and less expensive.. 🙏🏻🙌😊👍😎

Have your meals at hawker centres, like chinatown complex, hong lim food centre, maxwell food centre where they have michelin star stalls at affordable prices. You could also visit chinatown, little india, haji lane not to mention the marina, gardens by the bay and sentosa or go island hopping around the southern islands

Welcome to Singapore! Yes, go for the food courts and hawker centres - Old Airport Road is great - just take the MRT Circle Line and alight at Mountbatten. I hope you explored Jewel @ Changi Airport when you landed. Marina Bay and Gardens by the Bay are free to visit, but specific attractions will cost some $. Also recommend exploring Joo Chiat / Katong and Little India (do Mustafa Centre if you can). Hope you guys have a great time here.

30 days visa is really not long enough as there are so many places in Vietnam to explore. People are anxious when their visa is expiring but they should plan like the One Pack Wanderers did is to organize a border run to Laos to extend their visa at the local Vietnam consulate or if they are in the south, they take a bus to cross the border to Cambodia, like Moc Bai in Tay Ninh, and get their visa extended in Phnompenh.

Hi guys, I too suffer from anxiety pre flight and have done for years ,but decided I could not let that define my life. I spoke to my doctor who prescribe for me a sedative, Temazapan. I take 1/2 A tablet on the evening pre flight and mostly I am great on the day. I really don't enjoy having to do this, BUT it is far better than the anxiety and adrenalin pouring into my system. It is the only time I take anything. Helps so much.

Nearly following in your footsteps in October/November. Maybe. I'm beginning to rethink after being semi-forced to rebook to get away from a long layover in Japan. Stay away from that country! I originally had an 8+ hour layover in HND, which I was actually looking forward to after an 11-hour flight from LAX. THEN I found out the only "airside" hotel, Royal Park, was closed and the nearest lodging that had airport access, Excel, was outside the security perimeter, thus one would need a "transit visa" - even for an eight-hour stay! But, THEN found out Japan was no longer offering said transit visas. I rebooked - for $400 more - so I'd only be stuck in Tokyo for 2.5 hours. Anyway, doing both Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi (with a three day/two night voyage on Ha Long/Lan Ha Bays), then Da Nang/Hoi An, back to Ubud, Bali, then on to Singapore for a couple days. I've been through Singapore Changi airport in the past. It's a destination itself, so booked a couple ridiculously expensive days in the onsite Crowne Plaza before heading back state-side! Thanks for your very helpful vids - and, Mandy, if you've anxiety problems, stay away from Japan!

welcome to SG! i would suggest Chomp Chomp Food market ( in Serangoon area ) its abit in the heartlands of Singapore. please try their BBQ stingray and Sugercane juice! alongside perhaps a Hokkien mee and BBQ wings ( with the chili and Small Calamansi lime ) ! Please note that its a Night time food area so its start around after 6.30 to 7 evening. also consider eating a mix of food dishes from the Chinese/Malay/Indian food! Lastly please consider leaving around 4 to 5 hours of time to visit the Changi Jewel ( mall ) connected to Changi Airport terminal 1 on the day of departure or arrival.

Welcome to Singapore. You'll want to check out the Food for sure and don't be afraid of visiting places of worship. They are free to enter and you get a grasp of the local culture which is a melting pot of Chinese, Indian, Malay, Eurasian etc. Do take note that some places might have a dress code (no shorts, no sleeveless...etc). Not to worry though, there will be signs or people at the entrances who can help you out. Also, you could spend a day to explore Little India, Chinatown, Geylang, Orchard, Sentosa and, something that alot of Vloggers miss out, the Heartlands (the food and beer is cheaper there so...)

Get day tickets for the Hop on Hop Off bus and do a round of the stops staying on the bus. Then decide where you want to go on that route. A very cheap way of seeing lots. Must see the Gardens, Santosa..eat at the little local businesses. Night market in Central for cheap food, little India, fabulous, China Town malls cheap. East coast seafood great. Great walks on Santosa to the old military positions and a mini train to get around on. The chairlift from the mainland to Santosa is also great fun if you are not scared of heights. The zoo is fabulous but you need all day there. Avoid places close to the big hotels. Orchids gardens and botanical gardens are wonderful.. Take some cheap takeaways and drinks because prices of food are high. Make sure you take ater where ever you go. Having said that I must say that some of the Best food, accommodation, we have ever had were in Singapore. Have a great time. The Airport. OMG you could spend all day there for nothing, so much to see. Y

G'day, Lloyd & Mandy. I totally agree with what you were saying about the outrageous prices at airport cafe's etc. At Perth Western Australia airport, if you order something as simple as a coffee and croissant, you have to make a quick call to a finance company and take out a mini loan before ordering..!! What Lloyd said about they no you have no choice, you have to pay the exorbitant prices or starve, is somewhat correct. However, the main reason for these prices is because of how much the rent is for the food outlets there. If you asked one of the cafe's what their rent was it would blow your socks off, rents in shopping centres are through the roof, however rents in airports are up in the stratosphere..!! you only have a couple of days in Singapore, so my only tip for you is DON'T take a rickshaw ride, or you will get stung a lot more than your breakfast at the airport in vietnam. Best wishes, and take care of your gorgeous Mandy..!! John, Perth, Western Australia

For many years, Harvey Norman refuse to set up electrical store at the Australian Airport selling laptop,Ipad, phones, headphone and equipment etc because they could not make any profit due to high rent . We migrant know your country more than the Aussie. they spoend too much time at pub , now the population try to find their way home . Hopefully no one beat them up on the street at night.

For something different that not many you tubers show, go to Pulau Ubin, Coney Island, MacRitchie reservoir, Henderson waves. You need to spend more than 3 days in Malaysia though. So much to see. I understand your anxiety Mandy, mine is due to fear of flying, so the lead up in the departure airport is very nerve wracking.

I will be interested to see how you find Singapore. Very expensive and very orderly. I find the shopping in Orchard road to be the best. All the malls are interconnected and have have all the large European/Australian sizes. Love the driverless train at the airport. Even better if you're there when the sales are on! You're not the only ones not enjoying airports. I often wear RM boots and jeans on the flight. Every time I go through security they make me take my shoes off but they won't request women in those weird 5" sole runners to remove their shoes - ??? Yeah Sydney Airport charges $12 for a beer.

Head to the Marina; see the free light shows at Gardens by The Bay and Marina Bay Sands Hotel every night🌟Head to Botanical Gardens🌸 The Esplanade and it’s Hawker stands at night😋 Make sure to go to Teka Center in Little India to eat and soak in this incredible place and atmosphere over 4 floors and with the best hawker stands in Singapore we think. Try the deliciously cheap rotis; dosas; chicken and rice AND the amazing ‘stretch teas’ Very sweet but fantastic especially in hot/humid weather👍Little India is an assault on the senses but in the most pleasurable sense🙏Head to Clarke Quay and Boat Quay at nighttime when (like Vietnam) this place comes alive🎉We loved it here by the river and watching life happen♥️Try a Moss Burger if you have never had one🍔 Pick up some snacks from Bread Talk and try out one of the many food courts the shopping malls offer!! You won’t be disappointed and so much variety. If you want to splash out then High Tea at Raffles a must (great mini pies🥧) and/or just a famous Singapore sling in its home The Long Bar🍹Head inside to the casino at Marina Bay Sands then up to the roof to see the most incredible views of Singapore honestly🌃The hop on/off tourist buses are fantastic and has I think 3 routes so you will not miss a thing! Even if you just stay on bus it will give you a fantastic flavour of Singapore with all the sights and attractions in one glorious hit!! You also get a free boat trip from Clarke Quay too!! The CBD area also comes alive at night too as the satay hawker stands reclaim the Singapore streets and create the most amazing pop up restaurant destination♥️Well that’s you covered for your first morning😉but honestly so much to see do and love about Singapore which you will want to return to☺️Have a fantastic time and keep doing what you do because you guys are fantastic and genuinely inspiring🙏Take care and enjoy🎉🎉LB

I was in Singapore once and never forgot the dining experience at night in a food market. Do you know that place’s name where all young people and students hang around at night? It looks More like many food stands than actual restaurants

In Malaysia I love the food there Chinese, Malaysian and Indian yum. Hahahahahaha, you can say yum in Malaysia Mandy. Restoran Ali Food Corner PUDU area has great indian Malaysian food and cheap as, so good. Also check out street food in the Brickfields area. Bukit Bintang for beers on the street with food or nightlife. Travelling around Kuala Lumpur is cheap on the trains and overhead rail network. LRT, MRT. Bus is cheapest from airport to city but kliaekspres train to KL Sentral is the go. Buy a return ticket cos you're going go back to the airport to fly to Philippines, dah, and it's cheaper than buying 2x one-way.

Don't worry, everyone have the same feeling, I have traveled the world 3 times and it's always the same bad feeling in the airports.

There may be troubles due to misunderstandings when checking security, but you should know that from 1976 to now, only 1 commercial plane of Vietnam has been in an accident.

I started traveling SE Asia in 1989. Watched your vlogs prepping for my recent Thailand trip in June 2022. Are you going to visit Cambodia and Laos? Myanmar is a magical place, but the political situation isn’t. Bagan, Inle Lake, Mt. Popa and Mt. Popa Resort

SG - to eat cheap you need to go to food courts. To sleep cheap, yes tube capsule hotels.

Always take a sandwich when going through airports,. Been doing it for years. Also take an empty bottle so you can fill up on the other side after passing through security.. 😎😎
