I’ve followed Elton’s career since the beginning. No one dares sings his songs, due to the melodic complexity and changes throughout his music. This beautiful young woman, who I have also followed and watched all her videos since she was little, has perhaps done the best version of this song I’ve heard. Love the piano runs at the end and the ending. You have evolved Emily and we can’t wait to see what comes next.

Elton John is one of the hardest artist to cover. With his intricate melodies, complex chord progressions and key changes, yet you preformed it perfectly. I love the improvised solo. When this song was new to me as a teenager many years ago, I used to cry at its melancholic lyrics and wistful melody. It has been decades and hundreds of listens to the original since I've cried. Today I cried because of the sheer beauty of the performance and arrangement. More than once. Just remembering it gives me goosebumps. Thank you and happy birthday, Emily. Nice, honest, raw, open performance of a classic. When a song is stripped back to its very basics, there is nowhere to hide. Thats as true for Elton's music as it is for anyone. The little interlude after the 2nd chorus was a nice change. Its one of the best lyrics Taupin wrote and Elton really was in a purple patch at the time where he just broke everything he recorded and was an amazing live performer.
