True, but it wasn't just Chicago. I graduated in 1972, and at the time, at least to me, it seemed like every new song that came out was a hit, but then the radio stations only played the songs that were good. But yeah, there was some great music back then.

Hits every note just right .. in a caring way like each is as important as the next or the last with humility and grace.. There is no we hope she'll reach the note or complete the string of them.. we have faith the note is safe with Emily.. and we instead enjoy each note not for an accomplishment but part of a work of art ..a brushstroke of sunlight or cloud to rain on the canvas of sound. I have always loved Chicago music.. Great musicians and singer songwriters like Emily has these bases covered as well in her own often solo way and getting better every day.

I first saw them when they were known as Chicago Transit Authority. Through the years I came to love the magic of Terry Kath, Peter Cetera, and the rest. After Terry's tragic accident I went to one more Chicago concert. When they came to the part where Terry would play Colour My World, the lights went down and just a spotlight was on the empty microphone where Terry would have been. The band began playing the song but not singing it. The audience jumped in and we all sang the song one more time for Terry. Emily what you just did here took me back to some very good times and memories. Thank you so much for the hard work you do to transform songs into beautiful memories.
