The Dust Deputy was the last bit we needed to make our operation smooth. Thanks for the tip.

I used to fill a bucket with "dirty" corn from a gravity bin. Then suck it into the other bucket. No guessing when the "clean" bucket is full. Recently, I moved my home made "cleaner" to a plastic 55 gallon drum mounted high enough to put a bucket under. I mounted a sliding opening in the bottom to get clean corn out for the stove and rigged the suction hose to a 6 inch elbow on the gravity bin. Now I just turn the shop vac on for a couple minutes to refill the barrel every day when I feed my stove. I also got tired of cleaning the filter on the shop vac, so I bought a $15 plastic cyclone that mounts to a 5 gallon bucket lid. The shop vac hooks to the cyclone, and cyclone hooks to my "cleaner". I won't have to empty the cyclone bucket all year and NEVER have to touch the shop vac filter.

This sounds exactly what I was looking for. Any chance you might be able to send some pictures of your set up please. For interested in the cyclone idea

@@grantmurray2480 I have a 1 minute video of my set up. I have a 3 ton bulk bin set up outside, with 3 inch PVC pipe coming in to a hopper in the basement. I screen the corn as it comes into the basement bin, then suck it from there to a 55 gallon barrel , using a shop vac, cheap chinese cyclone on a 5 gallon bucket and some PVC pipe I rigged up to move the corn. I hand to experiment a bit to get it to work like I wanted. I put a piece of hardware cloth in the suction hose on the top, so it won't suck corn into the cyclone bucket if the barrel fills all the way up. Here is the clip: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ooKmfox_m6h-qcUsi=--Gx_iECRjtahOxE

I also wrapped the suction pipe from the bottom of the bin, to the top of the barrel with some heavy copper wire, and ran the wire to a good ground . Otherwise, static builds up and WILL biter you.

Thank you for your reply and the tip about grounding the PVC. This looks like an excellent setup to clean the corn. Thank you for sharing. Much appreciated. Grant

Could you show a video of the storage you built in your basement for the corn? We're late to this and the fashion for corn heat is over. It's been difficult to find our way.

"Acornium"-classic! Gotta love it! I saw a guy trying to clean corn outside using a box fan--very messey! Looks like you've got it figured out-good job!! Be careful storing that stuff indoors--your wife is going to go crazy when she starts finding weevils in her flour/sugar, etc...haha...

holy cow why is flame so orange? To much air or stove isnt sealed up tight? I always have a mostly bluish flame burning in my stoves.Seems like its not looking like its burning very cleanly.Does it have a lot of buildup/soot or have to be cleaned out often (other then burn pot needing emptied once a day)
