Dude! So now I have totally transformed my good swing that I worked on hard from conception in 3 days! Remember, I asked about the feeling? How long will it take? Well, 2 driving range sessions and 18 hole’s and for the first time I actually feel ready to hit the ball and only have to think about finish! Instead of starting with clockwise left wrist rotation (witch never felt great), pushing to open up the face and swinging naturally around and finishing low feels incredibly. I am more balanced and hitting shallow divots for the first time in my life! When in NY, I’ll stick you for a round at Bethpage Black! I “feeel” like a complete golfer!

Stu, the cumulative effect on my swing of this on top of the time we have worked together, is that today I have more club face to path alignment, therefore more predictable outcomes and the best bit - I’m loving golf (even in the winter!) This video really made me Push the Handle down - result…more of the above - you are the golf whisperer!! Dunc

Another wonderful explanation of how the swing actually works. I started using your suggested weaker trail hand grip and noticed two things: 1. It’s a similar grip to my chipping and pitching grip, and 2. It really does make my trail arm rotate to close the face, which surprised me, because I’ve always been told to make my trail hand stronger in order to help close the club face. Golf really is a lot of doing the opposite of what you think. Another thing I’ve discovered is that if I only think about moving the handle the club face will do the right thing. So the swing is actually a handle movement. Again, thanks for the scientific education. Cheers.

As you say across the pond--"Brilliant"! Great use of props to illustrate what most golfers (me included) will be perplexed by since almost all golf instruction just focusses on dswing shallowing and invariably leads to an inside path and a handle that rises up! My favorite way to think about it is that we are swinging on an arc and everyone focuses on the arc to the ball but there is the arc after impact that few people talk about. If you put another cane on the front side of the swing, you can see that the downward pressure on the handle and body turn will take you around the arc beautifully. Your content is a beacon in a sea of golf confusion!

The perfect ending Stuart to your broom series. Really starting to understand how the handle in particular works. Starting to see some real progress thanks to your brilliant concise instruction. The only issue for me now is timing the outward pull phase with the downward pressure in the handle. Keep up the great work. Regards Andy

Thanks Andy ! In my video I demonstrate the two phases, the move forward with the handle and then down at strike. Try and segment it in a similar fashion as a drill. See how you go and let me know! Best wishes Stu 😊

This is... something else! I've been working on my swing, getting pretty good, but it feels odd.. i hit a pitching wedge 130-40 meters, but i still feel like i am pulling the club through impact, instead of letting it swing.. this made me feel actual release and also understanding why i sometimes open the club face on my practice swings.. i was pulling the handle to mutch yowards the target.. will try this first thing tomorrow on the range!

Stuart, not just "good coaching." GREAT COACHING! No other golf instructor I have watched in person or online has ever ever ever given a student permission to break the pane of glass with the handle. Please discuss this further. Thanks, Jeff P.

I think the fear in the mind is that the pull is going to take the club head away from the intended path. However that is because I want to place head at back off ball. Need to allow club to swing which is what I’m working on. Great and unique coaching which I’m watching avidly even from Cancun atm.

Hi Stu I was referring to pulling the handle in the downswing as the first action. It feels to us hitters that there’s no way the head will get to the ball. I am watching your downswing playlist and very very helpful.

Ok my friend - ultimately, you need to balance out the energy transfer with the pull and the swing of the golf club. I refer to it in many videos. Especially the third broom video. Hope that helps. Best wishes Stu

Man had a rough couple of days slicing the ball a bit with my driver and hitting a slight fade with my irons. Felt like I was getting left around, but I wasn’t focused on the pressure down. I must have been lifting just slightly. I had a 2 weeks of piping everything purer than I ever had. Stu.Thank you for sharing the difference In your video about and stance and path. It helped me… But, is it safe to say that you cant really get down to far through impact with the pushing down feeling (smashing through the pane of glass) It seems to me like the feeling of the arms and hands through impact (from what I see in your demonstrations is that it feels like you extend your arms as far down as you can without losing your balance and spine angle…and then pull to the left around? Is that a correct feeling? Sorry for the length. Thanks again for these amazing videos.

Absolutely my friend… glad I got my message across and all being well the slice will disappear! Best wishes Stu

Super impressed especially after so many years of traditional golf instruction has me in knots. Is it far to suggest that as we learn the out and down moves old habits, of ulnar deviation get the shaft and forearm moving more down rather than around- creating higher hands out.. Maybe the broom drill trains that out because of weight.???
