Idk rubs the the wrong way how OFTEN Matt gets bent out of shape because he’s just insecure about looking “stupid” when it’s always just him misunderstanding why the others are laughing. but then he judges the others so often and says he doesn’t believe them or minimizes their intelligence. I’ve been in Times Square on new years and it’s not as bad if you save up the money to make it more comfortable. Certain restaurants and businesses will reserve entire sections of the street and you can buy tickets from them. One year we got tickets from a restaurant where they had a whole party going on. So we were inside for most of the night (still in Times Square, so still within view of everything) and then they allowed us into the reserved section of the street when it got closer to midnight. You only really have to stand outside all day if you’re dead set on being as close as possible to everything, and/or don’t have a ton of money to pull some strings here and there

The shampoo is definitely referring to crying tears. Even the No More Tears commercials pronounced it “teers” when I was a kid. I was at Times Square one NYE when I was about 14 because my parents thought it’d be a fun experience for me and my siblings… All I remember is bundling up and not drinking anything so that we wouldn’t need to go to the bathroom. There were people selling pizza boxes so we had that for dinner. The countdown was fun but don’t think it’s worth standing in the cold for that long without a good view of the stage. I would never do it again!

I went to NYC for new years 2017-18 I think. 16 hours in the cold. Apparently record lows for the holiday. I WILL NEVER DO THAT AGAIN. I had a barricade spot, got there before 8 am when they started letting people in. Almost fought someone for pushing me too much but they left to pee lol. I did not pee at all and no matter, no diapers for me or my ex. Waved at Camilla cabello and nick jonas shot me a peace sign. But could not see the performance on the stage next to me. Neil Diamond iconically did sweet Caroline. My phone kept dying bc it was too cold out so the at was annoying. The count down was a bit surreal in person and I still have the confetti all these years later. And I was immediately crying from how cold I was while we tried to find a subway that was actually opened after everything went down. I lost my video of the midnight fiasco but I can still vividly remember the experience :) It’s an experience, truly, but from my legs violently shivering while standing up had my muscles CRAMPED for 2 weeks afterwards. It hurt so bad to move and I had PTSD from the cold for the rest of the season and the following winter. Going to NYC for NYE was such a last minute trip too lol I love adventure

He’s so insecure it’s actually cringe to watch sometimes. He seems paranoid all the time that people are trying to “make him look stupid” or whatever but then he continues to have grown adult temper tantrums and just makes himself look stupid on his own. I used to really enjoy watching Matt but I’ve noticed the times I enjoy his content seems to be when he’s with a predominantly male group/ cast like on his other podcasts. I think he’s a *little* sexist and it just comes out more obviously when there are strong women like Erin and Carly in the mix. But I think it’s completely unconscious, I don’t think he’s intentionally that way. However I think he’d reject that if anyone ever confronted him about it. I found him to become the least relatable over the years.

Erin, you are right to be concerned about your eyes being dilated. 20 years ago, I went to the optometrist for an eye exam. They put drops in my eyes to dilate them, and he put too much. My eyes were dilated for three days. I kept calling the doctor every day and every time he was like they will be normal tomorrow. My eyes were blurry, watery, and sensitive to light for three days. Miserable.
