This is genus!! I've been spinning yarn for 1 year now and it's down to lace weight! Well I've been trying to make it thicker to make a nice, warm winter hat... Thank you!!

Been looking for something like this that would help me use my light worsted weight yarn as a regular yarn. Thank you so much!

This is genius! I was just trying to figure out how to divide a ball into thirds and keep the variation the same.

Robyn Drury So sorry, For some reason YT wouldn't give me a reply button so I'm trying a different way. To add color your could cut and tie a knot to add the colors OR I would separately start a new 3 n1 and cut the ends to expose the three strands. Do the same for the existing working yarn where you want the color to join. Then use the russian join technique if you are comfortable with it. it is a technique that takes some practice and the right yarn but has no knots to deal with. you can also try a slip knot with the new color and add right on to peg or needle. Then weave in long tails with a tapestry needle to secure later.

Nice, to progress with the 3 strands you have to pull up new thread. I think that stumps some people, the progression, the continuance of this method.

Thanks Kristen, your videos have taught me more about Loom Knotting than anything else I tried. I am having a problem with the three strands. For some reason (it doesn't happen with other yarns), I keep e-wrapping too tightly-- so much so that I'm pulling the pegs out of my Martha Stewart Loom. Do you have any tips or tricks?

Hi! This was super helpful but I was wondering what to do once I finish my first ball, how do I start the next ball?

You could tie a weavers knot and trim to keep going. It will pull into your same technique as you go. Just make sure you notice when you have a few yards (or feet) left. You can also use a square knot and trim.

Very good, but you can't do a continuous 2 strands of the ball can you?
@GoodKnitKisses
@GoodKnitKisses 4 жыл бұрын
Cathie Huxtable you could grab one strand from each end of the ball. You’d need to have it in a bowl that allows it to roll around. A yarn bowl that has a hole in the side can have the strand from the inside of the skein pulled from it and the one from the outside can be pulled freely. As you pull the ball will roll around in the bowl.

What I would do would wind my ball of yarn into a center-pull yarn cake. Then I would use one strand from the outside and the other from the inside.
