Eli stole my heart when he was up on the horse, tipped his hat and said Howdy Ma'am!! 😍 You two have taught your children well ! ❤ All of them with their own talents , gifts and love. Living in the moment, grasping those " Can we ..." moments are priceless memories. Take it from a Momma of an amazing son who will be 42 this year and a Granddaughter that just turned 20. Time flies by so quickly! Much love, big hugs and lots of prayers from a Kansas Grandma ❤️ 👵

omg.. cutest thing EVER - Eli showing up with his tools and his belt, ready to help. I adore the bond you have with your children and one day- when they present you with grandbabies, every single moment of your bond you made with your own wee babies at this age - will flood back in and you'll relive these glorious moments twice, thrice, and more times over. Life is so so SO good, and you two are living not only your own dream (hurdles and all) but blessing us by bringing us along too. Thank you for sharing your love and your serenity, peace, joy, and lives with us...

ALL BATHROOMS require waterboard drywall! The blue helps workers to tell the difference between regular house drywall and blue bathroom (waterboard) drywall. Sometimes it comes in a light purple. The blue drywall has the same gypsum content as the regulardrywall, but the blue paper is treated for mold resistance.

Jeremy and Melissa, Your Dream House wouldn't be a true Dream House if you didn't take the time to build a relationship with your children. Children need to feel the love, respect, and value you have for them. They need to know they are more important than you spending every single day working. Yet is also important they realize that you are building this home for them. It will be their home long after they are grown and have families of their own. You are doing a great job of balancing out the home build and family time. Thank you for sharing your family with us.

It was great seeing Eli helping out at the beginning. You are both very patient with him. Short little spurts of 1 x15 minutes will eventually become 1 x 60 minutes in the long run. I'm sure each child has a "chore" or "housework" to do? You can add 15 minutes of help in the new house to each child's daily task list. That way they feel incorporated in the project. Listen to their ideas because they might just come up with a faster way of doing something or do it better than you. When you start slow and build up, their self-esteem will grow.

As always, thank you for your wise, timely words. Today was one of those days I found myself dropping the ball. I appreciate your reminder because it is so easy to focus on all the wrong things. But, yes, there is nothing greater than watching our children enjoy and improve with those things we have taught them. There is nothing like the pride we feel when our children succeed. Blue board drywall Blue board still has the same gypsum interior, but the outside is coated in a blue paper, hence the name. ... The benefit of using blue board is the strong absorption of the blue paper. Since the paper absorbs much better than normal drywall, the overall product is much smoother and evenly toned across the entire wall. easy to finish.

You need the purple 5/8" fire rated drywall to go with your color scheme. For added color, use Red Gard on your shower walls for waterproofiing. It dries a pretty pink. And seals water out when you tile shower walls. No need for Durorock if you use Red Gard. We used it in our house 7 years ago with no troubles.

The blue drywall should be fine. It is made for veneer plastering because it is mildew resistant and properties that make it suitable for plaster veneer, but I am not aware that it would be any issue tiling or painting. I would be just be sure it's made in USA or Canada. You can Google many health, safety, and actual home damage caused by foreign drywall.

It's so good to see you spending time with your kids. I think that you have your priorities in order as much as we imperfect humans can! Prayers for your family for health and safety and happiness! God Bless!!! P.S. That is a really blue room. May it never rot from humidity. I'll also be praying that it warms up soon. So you can start painting walls!😜 Happy Valentine's Day!

I use Canada’s Schluter Keri board to water proof your showers and flooring. Easy to install and totally water proof. Light weight but strong. You will not be disappointed. Make your own custom shower benches etc. I do all my custom showers with it.

You're doing well with the sheetrock. It is a pain. I've seen many times where "professionals" have made huge goofs. You've only made some tiny ones. I prefer to have mud around plugs when I insert them. Sometimes a screw into the plug makes them easier to hold. The real work comes with the mudding. Take the time to be very carefull to clean your joints as you go to minimize the sanding. Looked like a great sanity pause. Good Luck, Rick

Blue board and green board are both designed for use in applications where regular drywall wouldn't be sufficient. Blue board is for walls that will be finished with veneer plaster. The other specialized wallboard product -- green board -- is intended for use in areas that will be regularly exposed to moisture. Found this on a Google search it's important information about the color of the drywall

I have no knowledge about drywall. Question: Does that mean it was a mistake to use the blue boards? All green boards would be more appropriate for a bathroom? And even finish? Also, should then the ceiling have green boards too? I just like to understand 😊
@dennisfliegel7588
@dennisfliegel7588 2 жыл бұрын
@@liatori6214 they should have used all green board in the entire restroom that way they can mud and tape and finish with paint just like the entire rest of the house. Blue board is for veneer finish and cannot be mud and taped like green board and standard drywall

@@dennisfliegel7588 Thank you kindly, Dennis. I really hope they will correct this mistake, before they find out while finishing the drywall. And I hope they will use the moisture barrier/ green boards for the ceiling too.

That plasterboard is for water and mold resistance, and it's not meant for mud/tape/paint, it's meant for plaster. It's perfect for a bathroom and is sound insulating, but if you plan to tape/mud/paint, it's not the right stuff. You probably want the green or purple ones.

@@mistymcclure7971 You can paint blueboard but it's a pain. The blue paper coating is more absorbent so the veneer plaster will bond to it but it will get kinda furry if you try to paint it without plastering the surface (NOT a DIY job!) To get a decent finish with just seam tape and mud you have to prime it, let it dry, then sand the entire wall to get rid of the fur. Prime it again then paint. Green board or purple board are better damp area choices for diy'ers.
@imscanon

@@kirsten2607 @Misty McClure...what Kirsten said is pretty much what I would have had I seen your comment before her answer, so there ya go. At this point, I'd caulk all the seams with a waterproof caulk, put some RedGard all over it, esp all seams and anything blue or screw heads, all of it about 3 coats. Then a good quality primer then 100% acrylic paint is the only way they'll be able to paint, but they could tile all of it I suppose as well.

They have made it perfectly clear that the don’t force the kids to be on video if they don’t want to be. You see about 30 minutes of edited video filmed over several days. How can you possibly assume to know what has taken place during the remaining 71 hours and 30 minutes? It’s quite possible that he helps and is edited out.

It has a high water and mold resistance and there are fewer steps involved in veneer plastering. Blue board drywall is not made for mud, tape, or paint.
