Hey guys...My dad was a finish carpenter, and he used a short piece of scrap tongue and grove to hammer on when seating the boards. It protects the edges of the boards so that you don't damage the finished wood, and it also lets you strike it a little harder. I also am amazed at how smart, talented and beautiful Sadie is. Of course she has the best role-models in the world.
@debradiane39292 күн бұрын
I was thinking that also. By pounding on the tongue they are making it spread, which makes the next board more difficult to install. Using a scrap piece of groove that fits on the tongue to pound on, is the way to go. It's hard to watch them struggle, when there is such a simple solution.

Wow, you’re kitchen is looking so much better. All that work put into the floors is paying off. Not only is the flooring pretty, just think of all the money saved by doing it all by yourselves!😊. Ms. Sadie, is such an independent being, shows compassion, and is sweet spirited! Not only are you seeing the fruits of your manual labor, you are seeing Sadie, blossoming before your eyes, happy and care free because of her wonderful parents who have been loving and guarding her with each step she takes! 😊. Great job Jordan, and Kaylee! Y’all will have a beautiful homestead when the work is completed but better yet, you’ll recall memories of building everything, the three of you helping one another, and little Sadie, entertaining and dancing to her own beat! Now that’s good, clean family life for sure! I love your videos and always look forward to new postings. Y’all take care and may God, continue caring and supplying your needs. Please give Sadie, a special birthday hug from me. I am a 75 year old, widow lady who lost my only child, daughter Jennifer, in 2007. I don’t have grandchildren, but I do enjoy watching children explore and learn from their surroundings. I also can recall things my Jennifer, may have done at Sadie’s age and it brings me joy. Thank you for blessing me through your videos by sharing parts of your life. ❤❤❤CarrieJo/NC. Y’all take care now! 😊

Nice vid and progress guys! Tips: for hammering the floor planks, use a beater block... a small wooden leftover piece to hold against the new floor plank and it takes the hammer blows. For your sleeping needs, natural pure liquid melatonin works well for most. I use the spray, 2 shots under the tongue and I'm out like a light.

I love watching all of you and your life stories. I watch you learn as you go. Just an FYI, my husband is a professional painter. I hope the paint does not peel where you did not use primer. Was there a coating applied to your walls in the initial build? A good primer is a necessary prep. You get a lot of moisture in Panama and that paint may bubble and peel. I hope it doesn't. Did your paint have any embedded primer in it? Sadie has become the star in your family. I love watching her growth. She's a true joy! Thanks for sharing your world. Betty in SC USA

Now that Sadie has the verbal skills, it's time to start teaching her Phonics and how to read by sounding out the word. My children were reading at 3 by learning this way and I'm starting to teach my granddaughter soon. When you sit down to read with them move your finger under each word as you say it. Have her find the other words that are the same on that page. Let her say the word every time you come across it. Soon she'll recognize the sound of the letters and start sounding them out loud with her. They learn so fast when they are reading out loud and helping to read the story. They know what should come next from their verbal skills and the sounds of the letters when placed next to each other. It was so helpful to my kids and my younger siblings when they started school. Not every child learns the same way but sounds don't change regardless of how they are taught. When they create the pathways in their brains they will have the ability to learn easily for the rest of their lives. So much easier and faster than sight learning and all the crazy new things that some teachers are trying.

Bay leaf is all natural. It can calm down Italians. If one uses it in their dishes you can sleep like a baby. One can also make banana tea. Cut ends off the banana with peel on. Keep peel on and slice into1/4 inch slices and put peel and banana into pot with 1 cup water. Bring to boil for only 5 minutes and cover and let rest. I like it warm it works faster. 1 recipe is 2 serving but some need 2 serving most don't. You can add coconut whip for a fancy touch if one knows how. Oh one can eat banana and peel after cooking it like this. Quite good really. I was told women in prison dry the peel and smoke it to sleep imagine that.

That floor is going to look great! When installing them you might want to use an offcut piece to force them into place. It gives you the ability to lift it away from the floor and keeps you from damaging the flooring pieces. You can probably find a video that explains it better than I can. Just look up how hardwood flooring is installed. Also, I would recommend looking into a router table if you can get one down there. If you can't, maybe build one. It will save a ton of time and energy making the tongue and lips. 😜
