Goodsprings is an unincorporated community in Clark County, Nevada, United States. The population was 229 at the 2010 census.
Named for Joseph Good, whose cattle frequented a spring nestled in the southeastern foothills of the Spring Mountains, Goodsprings was once the heart of the most productive mining districts in Clark County. Over the years, lead, silver, copper, zinc and gold have all been mined from this area. Before 1900, a small cluster of tent cabins and a mill were erected, and a post office. Lincoln County established Goodsprings Township. In 1904, Salt Lake City mining interests platted the Goodsprings Township. Most early buildings in the town were constructed during the boom spurred by the railroad in 1910-1911.
After a number of moves, the current Goodsprings Schoolhouse was erected in 1913. Now on the National Register of Historic Places, it is the oldest school in Clark County that was built as a school and is still used as a school. Due to a shortage of funds, however, the Clark County School District is currently considering shutting the school down.
After World War I, mining slowed and families moved away. World War II created a second boom, but it too slowed after the war ended. The town's population has dwindled to approximately 200.
Goodsprings is the home of the Pioneer Saloon, considered to be one of the oldest saloons in Nevada (over 100 years old). The saloon features a bullet hole on the side of the building and a coroner's letter describing how it was created. The saloon is said by many to be haunted by the victim's ghost. In addition, the Pioneer Saloon has a small memorial to both Clark Gable and Carole Lombard. Ms. Lombard's plane TWA Flight 3 crashed into nearby Potosi Mountain on January 16, 1942. The saloon and hotel were the centers of operations for the search. The accident resulted in her death.
The Goodsprings Waste Heat Recovery Station opened in 2010, providing 5MW of energy from waste heat produced at a Kern River Pipeline compressor station.
Goodsprings features as the starting location in the 2010 post-apocalyptic video game Fallout: New Vegas. A Fallout-themed event was held in the town in July 2022.
The town also has a rich history of mining and Hollywood connections, which have been featured in various media outlets. The Pioneer Saloon, built in 1913, is one of the oldest saloons in Nevada and has a memorial to Clark Gable and Carole Lombard, whose plane crashed nearby in 1942.The saloon has also appeared in several films and TV shows, such as The Twilight Zone, The Misfits, and Cherry 2000.
The Goodsprings Cemetery consists of 1.33 acres (0.54 ha) and is an old, continuing cemetery located southwest of Las Vegas, Nevada seven miles (11 km) from Jean and just before entering the town of Goodsprings.
The cemetery was in use long before A.J. Robbins donated the property to the town in 1913 with the earliest marked burial dating to December 27, 1890 for that of Anna Nimmer.
The cemetery has been investigated by the Las Vegas Society of Supernatural Investigations for signs of those who have left this mortal realm. Bigfoot's Pad Paranormal Team has investigated this location and others for signs of the paranormal since 2008.

The Pioneer Saloon is very cool. In the Lombard room there is a table 13. At this table a man was killed in a card game gone wrong. The bullet holes are still in the wall by the door where the bar is. Very wild west. Keep up the great work Scott!

This is my old stomping ground, lived in Nevada for a few years. So many of these old mining towns and the history is spectacular. We used to roll up on the Pioneer Saloon with like 13 bikes and just hang out, eat , drink and be merry. Wrought iron fences were also placed around cemeteries to protect the living from the spirits of the dead.

When I was trying to buy our no trespassing sign. I saw that one no trespassing we're tired of hiding the bodies. I almost got it but we needed two signs. So I just went ahead and bought a package that had two signs for the price of this other one. Plus I didn't know how my husband would react to me buying signs that say that. I'm sure he'd just think it's quite hilarious and the other people would too around here but you just don't know because of the way everyone reacts to everything nowadays.

Hi Scott, that’s a beautiful cemetery in the middle of dot nothing, the beautiful views surrounding the cemetery, very peaceful place of all the people that lived and died there. I love it because it so different from any other cemetery you would normally see. Very low maintainence, no noisy mowers running over the graves just pure peace. It’s great to see people still living there. It keeps the area alive, it must be an eerie place at night, that’s when they say the spirits of those gone come out. I love old deserts and the graveyards , lots of heartbreak tho .. young got sick and there was no saving them .. I picture the mother in her black mourning dress with her husband or someone.. the preacher in black reading from a Bible , struggling with the pages in the wind .. sad days .. but beautiful cemetery..
