Check for meetup groups in your area, your library can help you find them, to see if there are other retirees getting together for fun, there are ALL kinds of activities. The public library is pretty entertaining too, and a source of local information. You should enjoy your retirement, you worked for it!

I am certain your yellow ceramic bread basket is from William Sonoma. It is exactly like mine which is burgundy. You place it in the oven to heat up and then it keeps your bread and rolls warm during dinner.

That deer candleholder from India would look amazing on a small battery-operated turntable, reflecting the deer prancing all over the room. We knew that was your booth Valentines day haul...LOL. I do have a ceramic bread basket...they can be oven-heated for 5-10 minutes and help to keep rolls warm.

Whale watching: My daughter hosts whale watching tours from smaller boats (about 40’ sized) in the waters off Puerto Vallarta, but also surfs those same waters. She relates a story about being out on her board, when it started to move sideways, against the normal flow and a bit later one of the whales broached alongside her. She has taken some beautiful photos from the boats as she has guided her tour groups over the years.

I have had since the 80s the matching bookends of the owl on a branch wall hanging that you picked up. It's definitely from the 70s and it has all sorts of matching items that can be found. Love it! The "critter bag" was so fun! I love things like that. It's like finding a treasure chest. The bowl is travertine, I believe. There are different types, but the kind I put in my bathroom also had clear areas that look almost like clear cooked rice. Thank you for your videos. I visited an amish village once and the family that was selling things told us that the baskets they had for sale were made by their children--it was what they got to do in their free time! So, if they were good and got their work done, they got to make baskets.

Hi, when buying any salesmen sample or furniture in general always make sure it has dovetailing front and back of side of drawer. These are the higher quality pieces and more sought after. I've seen beautifully made miniature pieces of furniture that had dovetailing throughout and these are the pieces you want to buy.

Re the brass bunnies: The brass animals from Korea tend to have more whimsical type features and smoother lines and the ones from India tend to be more textured and realistic looking.

Karen, you guys NEED a cat, TWO! Two will keep each other company while you're out. Definitely start with kittens. They bring so much laughter in your life. I wouldn't recommend long hair because of fur balls and shedding but 2 kitten rescues NEED YOU!... if you've never had an indoor kitty, you don't know what you're missing❤❤❤... now back to your video. Love the lidded TP basket. Plastic miniature animals make good toppers for canisters when spray painted same color as the canister. I would use the dresser salesman sample as a jewelry box, lining with velvet.

GREAT haul, Karen! I really love the things you were able to score at 50% off! Something about your listing for "The Thinker" brass bookends made my brain twang! 😮 (Note: I did not actually register this info before... so I'm learning, too! 😊) "The verb “cast” is considered irregular, meaning it simply doesn’t follow the standard rule of adding the suffix “-ed” to form the past tense. So, instead, “cast” just stays the same in the past and present tenses, whether you’re using it in the simple past or past participle. Just remember that “cast” is the word you use for all forms and tenses. It can be a verb, as well as a noun, and you should shy away from ever using “casted” in any sense." Good to know!
