1:57 This is such a good play What makes this so great is what lead up to it. See, light actually was getting stuffed by multiple punish options when trying to do his bread &butters, and had a difficult time adjusting. Up until the previous interaction, light hadn't found a way to deal with dr. Mario's escape options. Then, out of nowhere, he perfect parries into down tilt, then drag-down f-air, then low shine. When doc went to recover, light immediately jumped off stage and hit a second drag-down f-air to shine (the window on that is tight). I love the way light can adapt and play. 10/10 would watch again.

I mean, the literal answer is that light spot dodged it. but I get that you're asking how did light get his spot dodge off before the grab and I'm not sure. I'm guessing luis just mistimed it, since he couldn't just grab oos right after block since fox was still rising and the grab would have wiffed. maybe luis dropped shield first and the raw shield drop animation delayed his grab enough for light to fast fall and spot dodge?
