As a much lesser attractive cop.......I'd recommend taking an intro gun class offered at various reputable gun stores. After you spend time firing it.....you should develop the mindset if you'r comfortable with it and if you're willing to use it. Simply having it locked up in a drawer doesn't do much good if you'r not somewhat proficient with it, and have the mindset to use it when needed. --Jason

I put my license plates or stickers on my car the day I get them. I procrastinate on everything else. I will never get a gun. For one thing my apartment building is a gun free zone. I do have a slightly illegal antique Billy club that is lead lined underneath the seat of my car. I inherited the Billy club from my grandfather

That same exact thing happened to me in Charleston, SC. I drive like a grandma so I didn’t think the policeman was pulling me over either. The cop asked me about my expired tag. I told him that I have the new tag, but I keep forgetting to put it on. He put mine on too. I went from thinking I was getting a ticket to the nice police officer putting my new tag on. I don’t remember my cop being gorgeous though. I now put my new tag sticker on my car the day I get it in the mail so I won’t forget to put it on again. You’ll probably be the same way. lol

As a former prosecutor, I was given the following advice about owning a gun. Be prepared to use it and know that you can use it against someone, or it will be used against you. So with that said I do not own a gun. Good luck….

Yeah I took a self defense class and the instructor said only get one if you wouldn't hesitate to take another human life. I would need to weigh the pros and cons so that hesitation is why I don't own one 😅

Steve, my husband got his license to carry when coming to Georgia. He only had to fill out a form, they checked his history, didn't have any police records and it took a couple of weeks to get it. Easy peasy. He's allowed to wear it exposed but never has. It's a bit un-nerving to see a person with a gun on his hip in a store.

My own personal feeling - I would NEVER, EVER have a gun. They terrify me. I know the world is not in such a good place right now, but too much can go wrong when guns aren't handled properly. I speak as the victim of a completely accidental shooting when I was 13 years old. I'm 70 now but still, seeing an actual gun, like in a policeman's holster, gives me the creeps. Just be sooo careful if you decide to get one.

You know I’m never short of opinions Steven. But I tell people my story about guns because it’s something most people never think about. I used to be anti gun. Never even let my kids have toy guns. Then I dated a cop for years. What he said to me changed my thought about it. He said “There’s very few cops to protect millions of people. First off, by the time you call us, it’s often too late. Secondly, I need to be able to protect those who can’t protect themselves. Children, elderly etc. it’s your responsibility to protect yourself so I can protect the others.” That floored me. Never thought about it that way. I still wish guns were never created. People would murder each other way less if they only had hand to hand weapons. Much harder to kill someone looking them in the eye than from far away imo. Lastly, I work for a sheriffs office now. In a jail. I also work a second job which requires me to listen to several different law enforcement radio channels all day. And I can tell you that it’s crazy. The world is scary. I try to remind myself that my reality is skewed now. I am immersed in the worst of the worst, among criminals who have allegedly done horrendous, unthinkable things. But even in my ‘regular’ life….the roads are definitely more dangerous, people seem abrasive and distrusting and things feel different. I know you are a big man with a big scary voice when necessary. And owning a gun is in fact a very serious responsibility. I don’t worry so much for you about being a gay man. Although this current climate is horrendous. I worry more for you being in a large city. I live in the suburbs and it blows my mind what goes on even here. Criminals are getting smarter, banding together getting brazen. I just worry about everyone now. And I was NEVER a worrier. I find myself saying “please be careful” when I never uttered that in my life. I don’t want to over state things instill fear. That’s never helpful. But things are different. Even in jail. So much more mental illness. So all that as food for thought. Everyone has to choose what’s right for them. But I would say if you choose to carry, you must be one hundred percent confident and competent with that gun. As for your officer. Wow. Knowing how overworked, vilified, crucified and understaffed our law enforcement are….for him to take the time to do that (while he probably had all manner of crazy shit going off on his radio cuz it never stops) well….thats an exemplary cop right there. Thank you for telling everybody that story. We usually only hear the bad stuff. Personally, I can say that the vast majority of the men and women I work with are honorable, moral, generous human beings. Bumms me out that there’s always a few bad apples in any industry that create a perception of the opposite. What my coworkers go through physically and emotionally every single day….it breaks my heart to see them vilified. It’s a thankless job to protect people and then turn around and protect the people that hurt those same people and then to be hated by both. SMH

If you ever get "flocked" by Flamingos, laugh and pass them on (trust me it's fun). Nice shirt too. Ralph Lauren outside a dept store is always a good find. Yes-every time to the fortune cookie. More funny that way. It must be a GenX thing. Kudos to the LEO. These are the feel goods we (LEO) need. As for firearms. 1. Get educated. Take a conceal carry class--they are the experts. 2. Practice practice practice. 3. There is a plethora of conceal carry holsters. I personally have purses/totes, thigh, bellyband (you might like as it's slimming, hid able and adjustable), bust/ribcage. If there is a place , it can be concealed. 4. If you are serious about buying, go to Sportmans, Cabellas/BassPro, etc and try them out. Physically manhandle, hold, manipulate and make sure it works for you (that sounded really bad). The right grip, weight, size, really does make a difference on how you carry and if you're comfortable. There is a difference between a revolver and semi auto. Most of these places also do your federal background right there and you'll know in several minutes if approved (you work for an airline so no worries). Take the approach that you are prepared to defend yourself, but your not looking for it. Also think about how you are going to store it when not carrying/using. I hope I didn't scare you off of considering. If you have questions ask.

OK...carrying a weapon is a big responsibility for sure. I have several as does my wife. I don't carry often when I am in my neighborhood. There are a variety of options to choose from, and some are better than others but those choices are really subjective. For instance, my normal carry is a 40 cal semi-auto. It is heavy, but I also have a Walther .380. It is super light and accurate. I carry concealed, but in AZ you do not need a permit to conceal carry, but I have one and can carry in multiple states through reciprocity. Do yourself a favor and go a gun store and try shooting a variety of handguns. A smaller weapon would not interfere with your clothing ensemble... :) Inside the Waist Band (IWB) holsters will conceal easier. At any rate...shop around (there are a lot of gun stores with ranges in Vegas). Go take lessons because you will need to shoot for accuracy when you take a conceal carry course. It is super easy...

I'm a regional flight attendant and I too can confirm that the floors of airplanes are generally not a place you want to touch. 😬 I'm thinking of requesting that my airline form a strategic partnership with Miele or Sebo and get some decent vacuuming done between flights. 😁

I would recommend if you do decide to get one, make sure you can use it quickly and correctly, so before doing so you want to go to a gun shop and ask how they recommend choosing a weapon to purchase and go to the range regularly! Keep your skills up! Oh no NO FOOD and then bad food. Awful.

In terms of weapons, a bunch of Boston cops would tell me - a knife will kill someone quicker than a gun in a 1/1 situation. I’m definitely not a gun fan. As you know first hand about knives too, unfortunately. Carry a good size pocket knife in your pocket for protection if needed. I keep one in the glovebox in the car.

Came here to say pretty much what the former prosecutor said. If you decide to carry a gun, be prepared to use it. I’m glad to hear Nevada requires some education to obtain a conceal carry permit. My state does not. I have also been thinking about getting a firearm. That is how I know my state doesn’t require carry permits or any education. Nice Goodwill haul, especially the shoes and that lined green sweater. Too bad about the broken planter. It was such a sweet work of art. Thanks for posting the video. Coral is your color, Steven! Looked great when you held it up. The blue sweaters are really good capsule wardrobe pieces to have - they go with most everything and you can dress them up or down. And the vintage blue sweater is to die for! I would totally wear that! Ha ha, I add "in bed" to all my fortune cookie fortunes as well. It's necessary. 🥠🥠🥠 As a relative of a LEO, I can tell you that most officers are good, decent people who got the call to a tough job helping others. Of course, like any other profession, there are always some bad apples but they are definitely in the minority. I'm glad that you got a nice officer that stopped you and changed your plate (and was handsome to boot!) 👮‍♂ If you do decide to get a gun, most definitely take a safety course. I am a gun owner, come from a family of gun owners, and I pray that I never have to use it in self-defense but self-protection is necessary in the world we live in, unfortunately.

I have myself considered a conceal to carry in my state. I judge no one. As my military relatives always say… you touch a loaded weapon, you’re cleaning it or using it. No words. For that reason only, Even though target practice was what we did growing up. The govt didn’t technically train me to shoot so..I hesitate

I’ve thought about guns lately too. But I dunno. Maybe I’d feel more comfortable if I grew up around it them like some people have. I didn’t grow up out on the farm with a dad who had guns and always carried a pocket knife. That wasn’t us lol. But they make me nervous, you hear so much about people messing around with them and accidents that happen. Just the fact that I’m thinking about it when I never had before makes me nervous, I’d be a total inexperienced novice. I’d be scared of being one of the ones you hear about who makes a mistake or has an accident. I’ve always been in the “just because you can doesn’t mean you should” category. But if people want them, sure why not. I’m in favor of restrictions that make sense, requirements for safety classes and things like that. I’m a lefty, but not a “ban them all” lefty some people think we are. Haha.

Happy Pride! Don't get a gun. Buy an aluminum T-Ball bat put a tube sock on it and put it under the bed. The sock is if someone grabs it they will grab the sock and you will pull back on the bat.

I was anti-gun UNTIL a drunk and deranged son of a neighbor tried to break into our house at 2 a.m. Thankfully, the police arrived in record time and arrested him. The next day, we went and bought handguns. Those neighbors moved shortly afterward but we still have our guns and are prepared to use them to protect ourselves. Like a friend pointed out later, "the police are minutes away when seconds count" meaning it's best to be able to protect yourself if you should have to. I imagine that's why your policeman friend said he thought everyone should have a gun. The police can't be everywhere at once.

I am so happy to see you doing so well you look great and I just had to chime in you know I lost my husband 3 1/2 years ago and I am completely alone now and I absolutely am for you getting a gun! Take the classes and as someone else said be ready to use it don't ever do something like think you can shoot somebody's knees out to stop them if you're going to shoot you're going to have to shoot to kill and mean it if your life is in danger if it's you or them! I have two guns I have a .357 magnum and I have a little bernardelli baby, a little Italian pistol, i'm sorry but you need to protect yourself these days, I've grown up with guns i used to go to the gun club with my dad shoot skeet and pheasant and he taught my brother and I to respect and handle a gun since the age of probably seven or eight I'm comfortable with them uncomfortable knowing when to use it and I'm definitely not scared to use it! Anyway I just had to chime in I still don't have a great Wi-Fi because of Disability can't afford it so I can't always comment and for some reason I can't install or join KZbin to the point where I can like or dislike a video I don't understand it But I'm getting a new phone soon so hopefully I can go back in like every video that I have missed I've never missed watching a video, I just can't give you a like but know that I'm here, know that I always wish you well and talk to you again soon… Take Good Care & Fly safe!

Not quite sure what headrest I would have talked about. For a travel pillow? If you go into Amazon and search for inflatable travel pillows, you'll find one that has holes on both sides and on top. You'd rest your face in the top hole if you'd like, and put your arms through the hole in the middle.

I don't like guns either but I have been considering this as well. I am a petite female and while (in my head) I could probably kick anyone's a$$...the reality is that I can be overpowered. In addition, if we do end up in some sort of another civil war (people laugh but they shouldn't)...I don't want to be the only one without protection. Guns still creep me out though so it is a tough decision.

No, I've never used any of those meal delivery services...I e heard too many stories about the food not arriving, being cold, and the fees seem crazy. I usually don't have too much difficulty feeding myself. I'll just have to remember how difficult Oakland is.

Well I can tell you this that the only thing that would have made the police officer stopping you any more exviting woukd be if he would have been a motor officer wearing those knee high black boots....yikes!! Be still my heart!!! Having been in law enforcement my opinion of owning a gun is maybe surprising as I don't own one. If something is going to happen to me I doubt if having a gun will be the deciding factor if I get out of the situation alive or not. As a flight attendant and seeing many people from different walks of life, do you ever see someone in a flight and wonder...such as the guy with his fibger scratching his brain...what their home must look like? If they will do things like that in public, how do they live in private? Just something that always comes to my mind. Hope you get some rest!! Big hugs to Buddy and Eleanor!!

Usually individual items are tagged separately. If there's a group or collection that's being sold at one time those items are usually gathered up with tape or something. And then there's only one price tag on it.

Steven, I must start with how disappointed I am with you after watching your post. Where is the footage of the cop putting on your plates? Spread the joy!! When I got stopped, the cop was very nice but looked as those Budweiser and a recliner were his best friends. As a gay man, I pondered in getting a guy. I live in AZ so you can buy them in bubble gun machines outside every store. People carry them like candy here. I was so antigun but with the world and the hatred spread by the GOP, I no longer feel safe. I was raised around guns and hunting so that wasn't a big deal. I took a refresher class at the range. One doesn't need a permit here for open or concealed carry but I did get my concealed carry license. Otherwise, if within certain distance from a school one can be arrested for possession but not with the license. I go to the range weekly to stay on practice. I know own 6 pistols. It has become a hobby. I agree with the cop, everyone should own a gun. I know people have different views, but the LGBT+ community has become a huge target for hatred. There is even a shooting group for the LGBT community that I belong too.
