Great finds! The angel is actually injection molded. It was the method used prior to blow molding. The important thing to know about injection molded pieces is that the plastic will yellow with exposure to UV light. Some I’ve seen are almost brown from years of exposure. So keep her indoors and away from the windows and she will be nice for years to come!

Glad you got your Santa and the Angel. I found the pattern on the gravy boat interesting. It looked like 1950’s pattern. We didn’t have much fancy stuff. Spooned our gravy out of a cast iron skillet. 😀

Kay DeFreese the mask thing isn’t my biggest problem really. I work in a grocery store so I’ve been in one 8 hours a day for 5-6 months. But it is a hassle.

Oh Renee, my eldest son and his wife, Katie, are living and working in Houston and she had my first Grandchild in October, 3 months premature. He is fine now and heading towards his first birthday but I still have not seen him in the flesh so to speak. His name is Ethan Graham and you looked at a little nursery sampler in Goodwill with the name Ethan on, it made me feel sad and happy all at once! The Goodwill stores in our area are horrible! Nothing is organized and typically everything is just thrown on shelves which means that most of the stuff is chipped and cracked. I am green with envy at how organized and clean this Goodwill looks! Great job with your voice over, Renee 👊🏾

Thank you for having patience and respect with the workers. I feel so bad, especially during the pandemic, when people come and invade their space. I don't care if I miss out on an item, I'll never treat a worker like that. I know you've said this in the past, but what belongs with us, will find it's way into your hands. @1:53 I liked the look of that painting behind the print you picked up. Hard to see it but it appears to be an amateur painting. The color of the frame is right for it to be 1940s-1950s.

If you're having a problem seeing something (like the writing on the back of plate), take a photo with your phone. You may have to enlarge it. I help run a small museum, and this works even with writing on paper. (Which occasionally we need to look at on computer, changing contrast, darkening, etc.) But most often just the photo works.

Well, my trip to the re-opened Sal. Army store was kind of a bust...got practical items for my work shop, a new empty photo album, a small Halloween ghost [new] his eyes are led's which light up from a solar re-chargeable batt. and a Precious Moment figurine, a gift for Dee Bettis, of Thrill of the Thrift. Lot's of the ever present piggy banks and bear-themed items. The Halloween stuff was all newer cheap items. That's it! Your trip resembled mine yesterday! A blow mold frog would have made me smile!!

Our Goodwill is 35 miles away and it only has one aisle of glassware. We haven't been able to go to any flea markets or Goodwills or anything like that since all this started.

One day I walked into a Goodwill store and lo and behold there was an antique floor model radio from 1940 sitting there. The tag said it was a jukebox and was priced at $6.00 Yes it was old and had electron tubes of course . Someone took the bottom of the tag off ,meaning it was purchased. So I went up to the cashiers boss and she called out the number and waited five minutes and no one came to claim it. So this wood cutie was mine, for only six bucks! It was a once in a lifetime find. It restarted me into refurbishing much older electronics, none of that modern stuff . Yes there are cheap or should I say thrifty fellas still waiting to find something like that here. This was on a busy Sunday afternoon back in October of 2019 .Buzz1151 is a guy I do admire BTW. Great finds Renee!

Your print was professionally done, it's got non-glare glass which is a lot more expensive than the regular stuff. I wouldn't open it up, just sell as is, or better yet KEEP IT!

Our Goodwill arranges by color also. I don't think it makes much difference what day you shop. To me each day has it's own good stuff, or just stuff that I don't want. Our Goodwill allows customers to take from the cart. Sometimes they park it at the end of an aisle and carry items to shelves.

Our local Goodwill is an older store. It's probably half the size of the newer Goodwill stores in the area. Mornings have been empty for the first hour or so. 8:AM to 9:AM or so but some say they they haven't put much out until later. At our store the employee must put the item on the shelf before you can get it.

FYI the little dish at 4:17 is transferware as opposed to hand painted. Look VERY closely and you will see little pixels, that’s how you tell. Some items will say hand painted and still be transferware because the transfer is embellished with hand painting. Usually it is a few strokes on leaves or centers of flowers. I personally don’t pick up pieces made in China as they are not as regulated as other countries especially if it is near food or children.

Sweet finds!! I struggle with the Goodwill stores in my area (Madison WI) with finding treasure. I barely ever come home with anything. We have a thrift store chain called St Vincent de Paul (St Vinnies as we like to call it) that I tend to do better at. Do you have thrift stores other than Goodwill and Salvation Army in your area? Might be fun to explore if there are any independent thrift stores! Regardless, you did well with those blow molds! Thanks for the great video! - Mark

SO much Halloween stuff! My Goodwill has a singe stand alone rack of costumes. That is it. No decor. It is tiny and hardly ever has full shelves. I drive 35 minutes away to another one that is the same size but is always stocked and often find good stuff at that one. But even they have barely any Halloween stuff. That Santa is the same pose and size of a vintage plaster one that is a bank.

I would actually think that Mondays or Tuesdays would be the best days to shop there. That way you get the pic of the things that were donated the previous weekend. Not sure what the process is before things go out on the shelves, or how long it takes, though.

Good to know about this because I live in Tallahassee are Goodwill stores are very expensive clothes are seven eight dollars I might get lucky and pay 5 and broken things are still priced at high let me know if you have the same issue
