Today we are installing the Goodwin Racing RoadsterSport Race Muffler on my 2021 Mazda MX-5 Miata RF Club. Long names, great products! I know there are a ton of install videos out there for this car part, but I wanted to try something different. Is different good? We'll find out.

I bought this set-up. I would have preferred just having a straight pipe, which this set-up actually is, but for the anti-droning Helmholtz chamber attached perpendicularly to the straight pipe. I'm one that happens to like a droning sound, but it is what it is. However, I love the sound of this Goodwin exhaust when I'm at idle. When idling, it has just a slight sound of a small V-8 idling. I also love the sound when I'm getting down on it also. It's actually a straight pipe, of which, I immediately noticed quicker throttle response, and it is very noticeable too. Quicker throttle response makes for perfect rev-matching. That's what I loved about my old MGB's SU carburetors.

Snagged a used RS Race on FB market. Note that GWR slightly revised the the ND Race muffler recently. Looks like you have the latest design! Awesome! Can’t wait to install mine on my ND2 this weekend!

The only two road bumps I ran into were the exhaust bolts between the muffler and mid pipe and loosening the four hangers. Next time I won’t be so shy with the soapy water when it comes to removing or installing the muffler.

@@MisterMiyada, Haha! At just over 7,000 miles on my 2019, I've got less than half the useable tread left on the OE tires with all street driving. I'm not sure if I'll go with OE tires again (I have no real complaints about them other than tread life...well...and they don't have much grip, but that makes the car fun!) or if I'll go with Michelins (which is my preferred brand).
