The issue with Le Mans cars today (or WEC and LMH) is the cost to the teams. Global events, 12/24 hour races, tighter regulations, etc. Meanwhile. IMSA and the LMDh class is enjoying competition from BMW, Porsche, Honda, and Lamborghini - racing fat V8 powerplants - all local events in North America and shorter stints. Not sure what the future is for Euro Le Mans cars, but North America Le Mans is stealing the action.

@@hanswildorf5124 I couldn't agree more. Imsa has been fun to watch. I live near Road America and get to see the cars on track. It's a shame that the euro based championships all seem to be suffering from an over regulation, which is somewhat needed since technology can make a car go stupid fast, and the money spent could seriously explode. I wish LMH would find itself rooted in road cars again

The T50S - that is the sound I wanted the road cars to have. It's slightly trumpety in the road cars, but the track car is pure! And the Xtrac IGS is working!

I wasn't at the meet but about a week later I was racing little home built electric karts around the same location. It's nice to know that those masterpieces were there. I will see one of those cars in the flesh one day.

the more and more I see of the t.33, the more I see it as a better deal, atleast short term... If it appreciates in the future anything like the t.50 then I would be happy to save the 1mil to get a friendlier and frankly better looking set of wheels.

Just me, or the T50´s gearbox seems quite slow?! Very impressed with T33 sound again!

"The T.50s ditches the road car's six-speed manual for a paddle-shift XTrac Instantaneous Gearchange System (IGS). The IGS is a single-clutch pre-selector six-speed, which has the next gear ready as soon as you pull the paddle, so you get dual-clutch speed without the weight."

Apparently there was a problem with the gearbox meaning it was kept in 6th gear and at no more than 7000 revs during this run. This is isn’t the car in its final form.

They were at Goodwood. I reckon that the T50 is a car that, at 12krpm in any reasonable gear, is going to be covering ground at such a rate that it'd need a track far bigger than Goodwood! I like the videos they did up at Cosworth's factory with the engine on a test stand going through a simulated lap of Le Mans; unbelievable sound. Even in that, I don't think it's hitting peak RPM in top gear even on the Mulsanne straight; I counted only 3 gear changes on the longest part of that straight after Tertre Rouge, and it hadn't quite stopped accelerating before slamming on the (virtual) brakes for the first chicane. However, the video does show it just about reaching 12k in 6th before Indianapolis, but it sounded like the engine would still give more if room permitted.
