@@GlassOnion23 but that really isnt saying anything. The original f1 wasnt a very good handling car. Decent, yes, but not outstanding. There is a top gear Video from the F1 release period with Tiff Needell where he quips "the most impressive part is the engine". Recently, Walter Röhrl took it out, wasnt gushing on the handling either. The f1 was greater than the sum of its parts, the technological firsts, the driving position, etc. Going back to the t.50 - i think the Ferrari sf90 will run rings around it....
@GlassOnion233 ай бұрын
@@leored79 Tiff loved how the F1 handled. He made fun of Jeremy Clarkson for calling the car twitchy. Obviously the engine still dominated the experience and the F1 being more softly sprung is not to everyone's tastes but it's not a bad handling car. I've also seen the Walter Rörhl video and if he thinks the F1 is no handling masterpiece, who am I to argue? And yet, Tiff still thinks it's the best car he's ever driven and that can't all be due to the engine and the center seat. The SF90 is a paddle-shift, 1600 kg (and knowing Ferrari, the real dry weight is almost certainly higher than that), 1000 hp hybrid. I don't know what purpose it serves to compare that to an analog, 12k rpm, ultra-lightweight, three pedals and a stick supercar with proper hydraulic steering instead of numb feeling electric racks. They're almost completely different in their sports car philosophies. Obviously the SF90 will win on a racetrack if that's what you are referring to but lap times have never mattered at all for driving feel and excitement on a road car anyway.
