The science you guides are doing up there is incredible. Kevin and all the sturgeon slayer gang are a true testament to the incredible conservation of the recreational fishing community. I’d love to see guides down here in CA able to do the same. Motivational, truly. Also, who’s making those cradles lol those are legit

Guides setting the hook is against the rules AP and Flair... Literally.. you lose points for a missed hook set according to the challenge if i remember right.. #TeamJonB.
@austinlupo70996 жыл бұрын
I'm all for the guides setting the hook. The overall goal is to get the fish in to tag and record. If that means the guides set the hook when AP and Flair can't, then so be it.
@OKRam5 жыл бұрын
I agree jacob, the tag search was fishy as f and the fact that flair even says 0 minus points because they didnt miss a fish is bs. Should only count as a fish if you set it yourself. #TeamJonB
@zacgriffith10715 жыл бұрын
@@OKRam the points don't matter, it's just the experience and the conservation for the Sturgeon. That's the real prize.

The production value on this series is great, with the slightly haunting cello background, the amazing landscape and the gritty filter/camera work. Also it being Sturgeons it's all working towards the end goal of content. What I would say though, is maybe have some drone footage as a transition stage, that isn't focusing vertically on the boats. (Like a sweeping drone shot over the water)

Can you guys do a Q&A about this type of fishing? I saw the rates on their site and want to go, but we only see snippets during these videos. What's the experience like? The biggest fight I've ever had was on a 3ft striper. What should I expect the challenge to be like on an 8ft sturgeon? What's the best time of year to go? And last, but not least, is there anything your fans could do to help with the conservation of these beautiful fish?

Again at 2:50 the fishing guide hooked the fish and passed the rod off to Peric... the guide also hooked Flairs fish at 11:35 and also did same thing on his other fish from the last video part... 17:51 first time we seen peric try to hook set and missed... i guess that's why the guide was hooking them...again at 20:07 (slow the video down on this one) the guide hooks the fish it shows the guide with his black jacket.. then less then a second later they cut it to Peric fighting the fish... Just feel like pointing it out

You would be surprised as to how many Dino's tagged in the PNW have made their way to where I live which is the Sacramento River and SF Bay. Dino's are my favorite fish to catch ever since I was 12yrs old in 1975 and a ginormous diamondback dino took me a 1/4 mile down the sandy river bank in a place called Rio Vista. My Pops and I were not fishing for dino's,we were targeting striped bass using chunks of sardines for bait. That has happened to me so many times Ive lost count. So far the dino's are pushing strong into the delta, the big ones especially like to just lounge about in the clam beds sucking in clams like crazy which makes for slow fishing unless your fishing during a strong outgoing tide that kind of forces those lazy clam eating monsters off the clam beds and into the deep holding pools in main river channels,that when we offer up the sturgeon salad bar of baits such as ghost and mud shrimp,grass shrimp,lamprey eels and my secret bait which is squid stuffed with day old grass shrimp using magic thread to keep it on the hook,this works really good during 3 to 4 knot outgoing tides. Oh I forgot to say thanks boys for the epic Dino Sesh this past few days,great stuff and great editing, Peace Tom

I used to live in Contra Costa County. Fished everywhere from the Antioch Pier to Rio Vista and Isleton. Always knew there were white and green sturgeon in there (saw a guy land a beautiful white from the pier), but hundreds of hours of targeting them never once paid off. Of course, I never had access to a boat, either. Tried everything from lamprey, ghost shrimp, sardines, anchovies, shad, nightcrawlers, and even squid. Never once had any luck. Eventually gave up, and started fishing for sharks and rays off the Berkeley Pier (RIP). Glad you got the opportunity to catch them out there. The Delta is a neat waterway.
