@@Mikeyy2006 Free trial for a certain amount of time and then just about $50 a month until you finish but it's work at your own pace so theoretically you could finish incredibly quickly and not pay very much. Even if it takes the whole 6 months they expect it to, the info is well worth that cost

@Triple_A_679 hey man, I have just started the certification. I've already completed course 1 on my first day and am now in module 4 of course 2. Course 2 is a little bit theory heavy, that's why it's taking me more than a day (plus I'm slacking off also). My question to you is, during the 4-5hrs you spent everyday, were you hyper focused on the topics or did you take breaks every now and then, maybe procrastinate a little bit also? I just want some advice on how to finish the certification asap. I have lots of free time, so I want to utilize it properly

@@KabirBhae I took 10 to 15 mins break after every hour, and I usually break up my study time in a day, I never hammer 4 or 5 straight hours head on, I would wake up say like 3 hours before work and study and I'll do the rest of the 2 hours at night before sleep. I did not study for a whole week because of family and work commitments, but I got back on it and smashed it the following week, that's why It took me 3 weeks otherwise it would've been just 2. But I would advice you not to try and just blitz through it, you might want to try and absorb the knowledge fully, especially the labs part, the duration that takes you to complete shouldn't matter coz everyone is going into it with different experiences. Enjoy your learning.

So far I've written a draft professional statement and then done an audit in course 2. So yes I'm focusing on the practical parts. What is consuming the most time for me are the reading materials. Should I completely understand those or can I move forward as those concepts are most likely to repeat in the future courses and through the labs, I will automatically get a good hand over the concepts in reading materials?

In the sixth course right now, think I’m plan to start the seventh one I think programming next week then I might jump into that course on. I can’t remember right now. I think it’s called the fence something online for a little bit more hands-on. I have a pretty deep Linux background and I thought they were Lennox the way they taught it for beginners is very good and very thorough, enjoying the course

Having just finished a Masters conversion degree in this field, I'm now finding out that A) the "skills gap" doesnt mean loads of jobs, it means they want people who already know how to do the jobs very well (not beginners). B) Even though you have done your degree you need to spend hundreds on various certs to even be considered. That is what I would call an absolute racket. What an industry. It makes me regret the whole thing and want to turn my back on it.

Interesting! My subscription started from August and I do not see Module 5. Should I email and check with Coursera to update or cancel this subscription and get a new subscription to get access to Module 5? Any suggestion ? Thanks! I found your channel when I was looking for more info cause I was considering doing the google cybersecurity cert and honestly your videos are what helped me make up my mind and get started! I purposely joined by clicking on your link so I hope that it is an affiliate link and that you get something from that. Also I was surprised that Coursera is literally just charging 15$ a month. So cheap for such a wealth of knowledge! I was also browsing the IBM cybersecurity cert and I watched the free videos on youtube of one of their classes called cybersecurity architecture and wow they were GOOD. Once im done with the google cert I will enroll in that class from the IBM cert just because of how much I enjoyed it and can learn. Hello I started cybersecurity because of you google certificate is well structured they have labs and have good teachers but the certificate is foundation does not go deeper on any topic does mean one you finish google you will be able to have clear mind map but you need continuinty cybersecurity is about 7 domain you need to choose which side to go more deeper is it soc or architecture engineering or management or. Penetrating testing google certificate is the first step to start better than a+ security+ about starting looking for a job to be honest is not enough

I noticed some videos about this good white hat hackers talk about certificates. I am not against certificates but can they stop talking about certificates and talk about the cybersecurity? Some even ranked the certificates! why do we need to do that? We are here for the skills, not for the paper. With or without certificates, as long as you have the knowledge, you have a good future. Remember, there are millions of unfilled cybersecurity jobs out there. So certificates are not really important as of this time
