I tried changing ownership however I keep getting an Error msg: ownership can only be transferred to another user in the same domain as the current user. any way around this?

There is a tool that lets you selectively archive folders,and migrate them.

I changed ownership of a folder but everything inside the folder (documents, etc) still show the prior person as owner. do I have to chagne ownership of every document separately? There are hundreds.....

So I have a question. The account that originally created the massive file I need to transfer ownership of, no longer exists it went out about 3 years ago. So now I can't transfer ownership but it also won't let me make a copy of the file. So will it all disappear?

I need help getting files shared with me into my own google dive A massive file was shared with me by a co-worker (the owner). I would now like to make these files part of My Drive - and not a shared drive - and organize them/delete them/add more to them the way that makes sense to me. How can I do that? I tried to make a copy and then just rename it but I don't think that will work - the person icon still shows on the folder.

Because it seems that you can't put someone else as the owner if it's something else than a "Google" file, it's super annoying, I have o find a way to bypass this, I need to upload some files on a friend's drive but it keeps uploading on mine instead damn

@@sunriseandmemories You can share files with person (normal share), then the person can make a copy, then you can safely delete your files.

The problem with this is that the files inside the folder do not transfer ownership. Only the folder. Kinda silly.

Thx bro i need this for school and the teacher required us to use our past drive folder but at that time when that folder was created we had a different leader in our group but now i am the leader so i have to be incharge of the drive file Now i can send this to the past leader so he can change my permissions
