Google just updated the Regular Chromecast for Speaker Group support via the preview program, I'm about to test now, but you should definitely do a short video on this for the rest of the Google Assistant World

I already own a shield 2017, CC 2015, The original Home, a few yeelights, and some Smartwifi outlets and I'm currently awaiting a Mini via the spotify deal. Also I have a Note 8, so basically a similar group of devices to yours and the videos have definitely helped me alot!

Great idea about naming your hotspot the same as your WiFi - on iOS do you need to name your phone the same? Don’t think you can name the hotspot separately?

Yes it still needs to be in range of WiFi. I remember trying to have it work over Bluetooth but I think I may have had an issue or it has to be connected on Bluetooth to your phone before you lose WiFi.

Hi Peter, the kiwi design batteries and wall mounts are also sold in amazon other country, include UK/EU/AU/JP, the kiwi design wall mount would be used for US and EU adapters but for UK adapter, it would be tight , but you could still use it :P Thank you for your support :)

Always concerned that these will add heat to the units. Not an issue?

Heat is not my main concern. It's not that much heat that it really matters. What is of more concern is that if you mostly use it as stationary unit connected then the battery is kept mostly fully charged. Combine that with low quality Chinese which is typical in such devices even the "expensive" ones is not a good cocktail. The last thing you want is lithium batteries burst into flames while not at home or perhaps even worse when you're sleeping. Constantly unplugging/plugging it when going out or to sleep you'll probably be tired of and it's not really something that batteries are happy about. It's however fine if you have a stationary primary unit without battery and then use this as any other portable speaker - as a portable speaker and not constantly plugged in.

So far I don't think they will have a problem. It is very minimal computing compared to what our phones do.

@@HifiCentret I think you will find it was South Korea and the Samsung Note 7 that had big lithium ion battery issues and also the USA Boeing 787 also had an issue at one point.

@@starcitizen890j5 Exactly. If Samsung gets it wrong - what are the odds that a random lower grade Chinese manufacturer gets it wrong too? They can go into smoke at any point in time except fully or almost fully depleted but fully charged and especially charging are the most likely points.

I have a question for all. Does anyone seem to have problems with the routines running late? Or the units make the noise and then the routines do not run at all? I turned this in on feedback it seems to be a hit and miss problem. And if this is something that can be fixed if Brent would be kind enough to see if he would help us fix it I know the world would loving! LOL but that doesn't matter he's got a great family.

The wall mount for the mini has one big issue as noted in other comments. The end of the plastic holder that holds the plug end is designed TOO SMALL for Mini plug end to fit into it!!!! Sure you can press it in until the plastic end cracks but that defeats the holder. A 1/16th"-1/8" would make all the difference. Don't think the makers actually tried mounting a mini!!!
