As a new fisherman within the area and still learning rules and regulations as well as spots that am available to fish. This video has definitely helped a ton. Thank you for all the info

Nice descriptions. The house below Winton park you spoke about was a bar back in the 50s to around 1970. The fish are planted at the boat launch at avocado. Reedley has fish planted at cricket hollow park. Nice job.
@prestonward75334 жыл бұрын
@Lucas Oats No Lucas the house on the westerly side of the road. It would be in the area of Elwood and N. Piedra before you get to trimmer springs on the river side of the road. There also was a bar at trimmer springs and north Piedra that is totally demolished now.

Very informative. I'm sure many will use the info. On a related note, I can only tell my son about the trips to the top of the dam and actually walking inside it. He doesn't get that 9/11 stopped all of that. Thank you for the time you put in to making the video.

Oh yes! Thank you so much for this video! It's been 3 years since my dad passed away and I am still trying to learn how to take my son out here to fish. All he wants is to catch a trout. Thank you for breaking this down, very informative. I've read in one of the comments that there are snakes? I'm so scared of snakes, have you encounter any and if so what kind?
@Levup_XP_Outdoors4 жыл бұрын
there are rattlesnakes so be careful especially when walking in tall grasses or by rocks where they can hide under for shade. I've met with a small King snake before.
@bloommingflower4 жыл бұрын
@@Levup_XP_Outdoors Rattlesnakes? OMG!!! That is even scarier! Ok, thanks for the info, will have to really be careful.

when you used to be able to fish right under the damn we would catch the biggest white fish I've ever seen, now you rarely catch them.

No coincidence I have been looking at google maps to plan a trip to the upper kings, which we made yesterday, and now I find it in my KZbin feed. I do have a question to anyone that may have some input. I made the trip up trimmer around pine flat and my kids were miserable and puking. Should we have taken the 180 and for better fishing and/or experience? We took this trip in early December 2020 and the lake was really low as I would expect and didn’t travel far up the river from the lake due to our kids barfing and also being told that we shouldn’t travel much further without 4X4. And more puking and kids that were pissed off at how long they were being subjected to torture via nausea. Oh and no fish caught or seen or reported by other fisherman being caught. So my question is where can we catch fish and have a good walk about and what season or seasons are the best. Any tips are very appreciated! Thanks and God bless!

Nice video, too bad the entire river is dead untill the hatchery stocks it, unfortunately the upper king's which used to be a blue ribbon trout fishery is also dead from overfishing and the millions of dollars that were spent "restoring" the lower kings river was actually spent to attract private people into buying land and thus less access to this river. Oh well , live and learn.

I also noticed that the regs say that below the dam to alta weir the season is from april through november 5 trout, does it really close?

Catch-N-Eat , does not close.

LevelUp XP Outdoors yea i reread it, it says from the dam to the corps of engineers bridge which is the bridge nearest the dam... does that mean we can fish up there? Weird
@fisheyelens8763 жыл бұрын
@@catchandeat from pine flat damm down to the first bridge is closed to all fishing all year due to the 9-11 attack, same for every damm on every river in Cali. Anywhere you can find a place to fish on the kings river where you can park you are fortunate, blm land has been sold and the population has grown so much that there are few places to get in where you fit in, good luck.
@aguila-47596 жыл бұрын
I wan to do some night fishing.. do i need some type of permit to park for example at first bridge, or you can just park there with no problems?
