I got the 4-pack from Costco yesterday and it was just as easy to setup as you said. Same price as the 3-pack on Google store. Kept same SSID and PW. Had them all up and running in about 10 minutes. Interesting that my shop Nest cameras, 94 feet from the house, connected without placing a hub out there. Everything connected automaticaly. It replaced older Orbi mesh that was failing on the wired lan side.

I already have the original Nest routers and debating upgrading. Spec sheet shows these new Matter devices don't work with previous versions.

This was a great review 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 a quick question I have irobot and it only accepts 2.4 GHz can I configure ? You said it has 6Ghz ?

6Ghz is used only as a back haul channel. This allows it to communicate between the nodes without taking up space on your network waves. Nest Wifi Pro still supports 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz and will auto adjust. I have iRobot videos on here, they work fine with all my routers 😎

Great video and thanks for making it. I have the Nest Pro and it is downstairs in my home. I am thinking about getting another to extend/strengthen my WiFi connection for my upstairs bedrooms. What would you recommend?

I always recommend at least 2 if you have 2 stories. It all depends on how big the house is and other factors like materials, design, things that can interfere etc

Yes and no, it's not a true backhaul like a Orbi AX4200 would have, it uses 6hz channel to do most of this but it is recommended as it'll boost internet to those rooms getting a direct connect from your modem to each node.

Thanks for the honesty! I accidentally bought 3 + 4. My apartment is from the 1900 with 2 bedrooms. I also have several devices (6 google cameras, 4 Google Hubs and 1 Echo, 7 Sonos speakers + 40 other devices) - Should I keep all 7 wifi pointers or just 4? I currently have the previous google wifi… and it drops connection ALL the time. Any idea?

For 1900 sq ft you need only 1, 2 max honestly.

Great question. No, as long as you name it the same name add use the same password. This makes it easy to just switch. Very rare but occasionally 1-2 devices will need to be updated.

Why did you say it would struggle in a barndominion? The reason why I ask is because we are looking to build one, and I wanted to figure out what I need to do prior to finishing anything that needs to be ruffed in.

Barndominium are metal buildings that they sheet rock out inside and usually brick or do siding outside to make it look like a house which saves money, for those who do not know. Due to the metal it can cause havoc with wifi signals as it acts a shield. It will also affect Cell Data and Cell Service. You should be fine but you may need extra or backhauls (dedicated RJ45 Ethernet Cables directly run from the modem (or hub connected to modem) to each node/satellite. This will boost you and increase speed and consistency. Hope this helps. Congrats and hope you guys have fun with it. Building is always fun

Wired backhaul is the key. You can add a switch behind the main router and before the satellites for anything you wanna have wired. It will take a little more work, but it is totally possible and will have the same issues that any network setup would have in the same building.

Nest Wifi and Nest Wifi Pro are not the same thing for sure. Nest wifi sucked, so much that stores went back to selling Google Wifi. Nest Wifi Pro is solid. I've been using it for a while and love it. It's a huge upgrade to Google Wifi and stable, easy to setup, and works great. It has Wifi 6E as well amzn.to/3Sl0MsP

I just set mine up with a fresh google fiber account and im bottle necked at under 100 mb up and down. ive had them do stuff on their end as well as on my end and so far no dice. Any ideas on how to fix it. I should have closer to 1gb up and down. i also have weak wifi signal even though im standing right next to it

Hard to say without seeing the layout of your place but 9 seems like overkill for sure

A wifi router only takes the internet from your home and makes it wireless. A good wifi router will give you a strong consistent signal and handle a lot of devices at once. It can not give you extra internet or free internet. Sorry. Hope this helps

We have the Goolge nest and I can say its prolly the worst setup I ever owned! My google assistents are always not working and the mesh get disconnected often.

@@Zachus Since there is no configuratuon, or intelligable error messages and they lack support I will never know. Set up a TP link in 5 min no errors
