This is like a chromecast for rich people. If I had money to spare, and this was still on sale, id go with this over the chromecast. I mean cmon it looks really nice.

It's a set top box that can steam media (music and video) over the web from the iTunes Store (either when you buy or rent them, or have iTunes Match for example so you can stream your own music), or over your local network. So you can have all your music and TV shows and Movies in your iTunes library on one of your PC's or Macs then stream it to the Apple TV over the network. You can also stream the content from your iOS device or share your Macs screen with AirPlay. Great little box.

I actually use my Q a lot. After they broke google music functionality, I had to do a bit of hacking and work up alternatives so I can continue using Google Music, Especially now that we have All Access. If google released all access with the nexus Q, I actually do think it would have done a bit better as it would be a lot more ideal. And yes, it should have been released at a lower price....

I think this product left a lot of people scratching their heads, even the die hard Android and Google lovers, though they must still try to justify its existence even if Google didn't bother to do so themselves. I think this is a statement of "we can still make stuff in the USA", but the price and lack of actual functionality kind of proves just why stuff is no longer made in the USA and other more "economically advanced" countries like Europe any more.
