I would say that the pixel 2 XL won that. Despite lasting 2 minutes less than the 1+5 it has a higher screen resolution. That's an impressive performance given 1+'s legendary battery life

marco köhler bcoz the tests were changed....the apps he opens be different in every test...even the app running time be different....in that test maybe he had used op5 for less heavy cpu nd gpu apps than this time....where he used the geekbench thirce and also used some graphic intensive app....the test results changes with tests performed....op5 is beast for the budget but Pixel Xl wins it....for the same form factor of size gets more battery nd even display....what u need more?

M1mass The Pixel 2 XL can easily beat the OnePlus 5 if Google added that ability to scale down the screen to FHD+. Not only because of the optimizations but also because of the bigger battery in general.

Roxor 17 Well it's quite a bit thicker, so no wonder they could fit a larger battery in it. Still, my point was, that phones loose about 5-10% battery capacity in the first few weeks (that's just how lithium batteries behave) so since the op is used and the pixel is new, this should be considered.

Pixel XL 2 battery is really good despite not winning this , just yesterday I unplugged my phone at around 6:05 AM and had to plug it up at 9:25 PM and had just around 6 hours screen on time. It's been great for me.

Pranita Kakde Lol that Snapdragon 835 soc in the OnePlus 5 isn't overclocked, instead is running at its max frequency and wasn't underclocked by OnePlus. Hence it doesn't use much higher power since voltage isn't boosted.

So it doesn't technically consume a lot more power than the 835s found in pretty much every device. It does use a little bit more power than the 100MHz lower ones but not as much to make a difference like the QHD+ screen which is "exactly double" the amount of pixels as a standard FHD screen. This is just my opinion, even though I'm a OnePlus user myself. :)

Thanks, this was really helpful for phones I am considering. I would love to see an updated comparison (Note 8, Pixel 2 XL) with the iPhone X included (in place of the 8 Plus) when that becomes available. I would say include the LG V30 as well, but the has some other things that would probably keep me from getting it. Still, it would be cool to include if you have one at that time.
